Our neighbors do fireworks and one of our dogs hates it.

You failed to mention what the vintage bottle of scotch was. Its pertinent to the story, imo.

Go to her tomorrow and appologize for the language. You do not have to appologize for not stopping or for coming unglued because she told you instead of asking. But you do need to appologize for the way you responded, civility needs to be expressed. Her dog was scared, but her method of approaching you was not right either. Tell her you would not have talked like that if she would have asked you to stop instead of telling you to stop. Sounds like you got some regrets for the way you acted, talking to her about it will put your own mind at ease.

Screw her and her dog, the important thing is to try to make yourself feel better about the incident, if she does not accept the talk, then you do not have to feel bad.

She should have kept quiet, but the next day, while you are trying to sleep it off, she should stand outside your bedroom window and use one of those really loud noise makers that people use at sporting events. That will be fun, right? Surely you’d be okay with it. It’ll be a laugh a minute!

Full disclosure, I hate fireworks in neighborhoods. People have gotten their faces blown up and their fingers blown off, and started roof fires while playing with fireworks during drinking escapades. Fireworks can be enjoyed while they are being set off by pros.

I agree about the fireworks in neighborhoods. These days it's very selfish and rude to shoot them off.
Lots of places to go to enjoy them!
The lady next door made a mistake by demanding they stop. That just encouraged the overgrown brats
to continue or look like pussies to each other.
She should have just calmly put a large sprinkler that would cover the guys yard and turned it on!
That would have been fun.

No.
Although , in my younger days , I was asked a lot by the barkeeps of the bars I may have wandered into accidentally.
