We can't even arrive at a common basic definition of socialism/socialist so how on earth would agree/disagree with Hiter being one.

Many people have cited both Hitler and Goebbels explaining what "their" socialism was ... and it isn't Marxist or Leninist, but is rather a concentration on the needs of the volk(as decided of course by the Nazi party leadership.)

Millions of Americans who lived through the Great Depression and were saved by the New Deal would disagree with your summation that it was the "worst things" that has happened.

Tell us, which factory did FDR seize from the owners and deed to the workers? Name one.

Government programs and initiatives are not socialism they are aspects of a modern welfare state which is not except in the most general sense, socialistic.

They aren't constitutional either without a 2500 mile wide interpretation of "general welfare" but that's another topic.

My first thought was Pelosi and how the whole country has to suffer her scatterbrained ideas. Then I thought why not hit the nepotism angle of ruling elite that is rampant in socialist and communist countries and my dislike for Amy Schumer as well. Natural, easily crafted joke.

Pelosi, Schumer, Warren, Waters and Sanders are mostly muppets that the media waves in our faces to trigger apoplexy in about 30% of us. Folks like Gowdy, Nunes, Jordan, Gohmert, etc. are for causing ulcers in the other 30%.

Stats say that about 40% of us are declaring our Independence, a good sign by any measure.

Track and field might be a better example for capitalism.

The individual competes and team points are awarded based on the individual's results. It profits the team nothing to put substandard individuals into events because only the best has the best chance to earn the team the highest point values toward ovarall victory, and for the best, you are going to compete hard anyway because you are getting your own individual award for winning or placing regardless of team outcome.

I am intimately familiar with the system from personal experience.

Most of the world thought fascism was the new way before it tried to take over the world in the form of the Third Reich and Imperial Japan, so it's not surprising at all that FDR was modeling policy off of what Hitler and Mousselini were doing in Europe.

I'd argue that the best sports analogy for actual capitalism is a fixed boxing match.

Both competitors may work hard and train, and then, the monied interests in control of the fight racket decides on the winner that will net them the highest gains.

All the alphabet soup agencies created by the New Deal were supposed to expire. Only the CCC did, which was the only one that put common people to work. Some would say the FBI is far past its expiration date.

If it had to be a choice, I’d say keep the FBI and nix the IRS. But then we couldn’t argue over socialism so much as fascism.

No. capitalism is simply the free exchange of goods. What you're talking about is not a free exchange on a free market.

You're getting back into something else that doesn't resemble a free market and free exchange, not if outside interests are deciding a contest between two competitors.

Yeah, I went with golf as it is pretty much the antithesis of football. Billiards would have worked but I snookered quite a few partners games playing for tabs back in the day.

Socialist seem to "identify" dying, with a shovel in your hand as a good thing. ...But at the same time? Not knowing the many uses of a shovel. They come across as "educated", yet ignorant with no practical skill. Like they've heard of "liberty", but never seen it, they're afraid of it. Like the "social collective" can't be trusted with freedom because they'll somehow miss out? But yet? All is done for the collective? But it needs a "leader"!

What isn't free? Your pay check isn't all yours, selling or trading goods is taxed, giving a gift can be taxed, privacy, your home is not ever yours any more, the freedom to persuit happiness if your DL is suspended, your privacy, the constitution is being perverted at an alarming rate. There is nothing free unless it's the politicians dipping there hands in the citizens pockets! Free for them time taken from us! Right now the libs are working on a couple big freedoms that will greatly impact the freedom of the people if they succeed which is our 1st and 2nd amendment!

Article I Section 8 covers taxes on goods and commerce; the Sixteenth Amendment allows for an apportioned tax (income tax).

No one made you take out a mortgage on your home, the rights to require various licenses are reserved to the States by the Tenth Amendment ... you've not listed one "Constitutional perversion" thus far.

Are you saying you require a car to pursue happiness? What are you going to do, run it down? LOL.

Look I feel what you're saying. I despise seeing what my tax dollars get wasted on nationally, state-wide and locally. I might have enjoyed living in the early days of the American Republic when we were still small enough population-wise to truly have a small Federal government.

And trust, I am all in favor of shrinking every level of govenrment to the degree it can be shrunk.
