Happens from time to time. Also have teams that give their all and still get Kimo the Assassin breaking Palmer’s knee in 2006, shaking his confidence in the Bengals permanently.

But you have socialism right here on ATS to a degree. A good discussion, great replies that drive it along and it is the OP that gets all the Flags. Or is that more like Corporate Capitalism in which the entrepreneur (OP) gets all the cash (flags, WATS score) from the hard work of the employees (replies). Hard to really say, not that it matters since the star bug inflated the currency out of control like quantitative easing did. Of course ATS Austerity is when you have to hold off on PM’s due to flooding.

In the end, it isn’t the social economic definition that makes the country as all have bits and pieces of each, even fuedalism exists here in America called sharecropping; what makes a country is the strengths and weaknesses coupled with overall stability. Any ideas of wealth or debt constituting power are gone and over if a biblical styled jubilee ever happened. Won’t happen because there is too big of risk that the same families wouldn’t regain the wealth and power they hold today.

Out came the kneejerk "gahl hitler wasnt a socialist rawr!" noise, and that was my que to keep the boat rocking with some of my observations on the matter. Then you started splitting hairs. And I set that straight. And now its all my fault we all had to endure this exercise?

Hitler not being a socialist isn't a kneejerk it's a statement of fact.

Socialism is practiced in all capitalist countries. It's just a matter of degree. Any program or policy constructed to manage resources for the people is a form of socialism. Take Winco for example, a grocery chain owned by its employees. That's a socialist concept that works very well. People perform better when they have a vested interest. America has a particular vile form of socialism however, where it privatizes profits and socializes risk and losses. That is, when a huge industry fails, the losses are transferred to the public in the form of bailouts. That's a crappy use of socialism.

Yes.

What the difference is depends on what definition of socalism you want to use. Pretty much the point of the thread surely?

Socialist/socialism (anything "social"). Is walking down the road and coming across a mess of people digging a long and deap hole... They ask you to be "social" and "help dig". You ask, "What's the ditch for?" Because you're willing to get your hands dirty for a good cause. ... They reply, "We're not really sure. But all the masses are doing it and the government is supporting our efforts. We're using communal/social shovels." "You don't have to own any tools!" "They said we can have a long break in the hole when we're done and a free bandaid for every blister". Come help dig comrade".
No thanks, I got places to be.

No. Same thing. People will argue, Socialism is "the people as a whole" and "Comunnism" is when a government takes control of a "socialist utopia".
Just like a socialist government takes control of a "Demoracy". Only thing communist are doing? Is skipping a couple hundred years of "legal" bs and history when turning a "socialist people" into " Communist party members ".
Thank God and our nation's founders, the U.S. of A. Is a Republic. Ruled by law!

A difference, not really other then a stage, an evolution
Marx’s stages of society:
FEUDALISM > CAPITALISM > SOCIALISM > COMMUNISM

And yes, Hitler was socialist, I learned this in school, my wife lived in Mexico all her life and they even teach that in Mexico. She laughed when I told her liberals here believe he wasn't. Anything a Lib can say to justify why they fallow Marxism

Socialism, when a bunch anti-American malcontents in New York repeatedly elect Chuck Schumer to the Senate and the entire country has to suffer his second cousin Amy Schumer who is neither particularly funny nor a convincing actress.

Hitler was an anti-smoking, vegan, gun grabber. FDR was elected as a Democrat. Today’s perspective says they were a perfect match.
