Contemplating an action is neither good or bad. If that's what you mean.
However, it is entirely possible to contemplate a bad action.

Can you tell me what all atheists consider a bad action and why

That's a direct question requiring a direct answe, knowing you can't answer that question because it can't be answered
You can't speak for all atheists

I've thought about killing someone. Never raping.

Am I going to hell?

Then why did you ask this:

Can you tell me what all atheists consider a bad action and why

So you are basing all of this off of a partial answer explained through a literary character who had both a rational case for the act and decided that absent God, there was no metaphysical means to gainsay his rational case?

I don't get what your problem here is.

If the person in question has a rational reason to do the deed (commit the murder), then he might as well do it if there is no other compelling reason to prevent it ... like a metaphysical reason like a God whose moral codes prevent such an act.

Being an atheist, a perfect atheist, then everything would be done through rational agency and tangible proof. Pure logic.

What logic is there that prevents this character's rational case to commit the murder?

so you think it's ok to fantasize about killing people?

no moral objections to that?

You keep going back to religion.
Well, it is the topic.

Is there good and bad?
Yes. The golden rule facilitates a peaceful society. That is good.

The golden rule, is that recognised by all atheists, all people, who made up the golden rule, what is it
Who enforces the golden rule, is there a punishment if it's not carried out, what makes a rule

If you believe in a afterlife, there may be a punishment.
If you do not, it is a good philosophy to adhere to.
If you don't care about it, nobody will like you and you will get what you deserve.

That's easy.

Believing in God, because they think it's stoopid.

Yeah. Prison. Death, in extreme cases.

In western society based on Christian principles
What about some atheist (non religious) societies, Stalins Russia, Maos China, pol Pots Cambodia
All you are doing now is ducking and weaving
Everybody can see your argument folding except you

Like I said. I've thought about it on occasion.
Then I didn't.

so thinking about killing people doesn't matter?

there is no good and bad in that?

why do you keep defaulting to criticism of the christian religion were you raised catholic and hate your parents?

is hate good or bad if not acted upon?

is hate ok

Really, I know that you are wrong, I know many atheists have a different opinion

See, a childish argument like yours has to become ever more childish
It must do because that's all you have

Should I call all atheists stoopid, become like you or admit I know many logical and intelligent atheists who have a valid reason for their beliefs

I think a stupid person is a person who doesn't try to understand and accept another belief, no matter how stupid they are

so i guess you can see why so many would see that the moral relativist ideology is such a slippery slope then right?

It is stupid to not treat others like you would like to treated.

Morals are a construct which facilitate societal interactions. No god is required to provide them.

Be nice to me and I'll be nice to you. Logical, no?

You have a sexual preference for those of your sex. You must be banished.

You deny our god. You must be punished.

edit on 6/30/2018 by Phage because: (no reason given)

The key to some of your questions is easy.

Most threads of this nature are purely knee jerk reactions, its basically being TOO LITERAL.

In other words, the OPs piece is designed to push the narrative that a Repub, even a prominent one, would allude to equating Death and Atheist, thereby, setting the tone for an audience that may or may not know any better.

This is inherently the same tactic used by MSM of all things. The good'ole twist and sell.
