If they get rid of ICE, then they should broaden the powers of the State and county and local officials to take action against illegals. I see that could be a plus,
Maybe. If the funds which are now going to ICE go to the states in order to support their efforts. Do you think that is feasible?

Didn't Chuck Schumer introduce a bill to legalize weed federally?

Seem like we're heading in the right direction, no?

Maybe let's fix the border and put drug policy reform on the table. Certainly would do more for border security than a wall wouldn't you say?

He did, indeed.

Let's see what happens to Schumer's bill. When it comes to Congress, chickens are hard to count. Hell, the Republicans alone seem to be like herding cats.

Maybe. I don't know that pot has much to do with that. Mexican weed? Really? Have they done something about all those seeds?

What's a prople? Is it a human being?

It is a specific typo of people. A minority.

Clever

A "subject" as opposed to a "non-subject"? How would the "global community" react if a sovereign nation treated an illegal infiltrator more harshly than a "free citi...zen"... *Cough*!.."subject" smoking pot? ... Good lord! You'd have protest! Oh wait! I agree with you on this. I personally think the difference is a power/authority trip not to mention the money that can be made, jailing your own cow/subject through government grants. Punishing the subject is easy. Keeping your neighbors cow/subject in jail, seems to create an "international" issue. Even when you offer to pay for their ticket back home.. The neighbors still get mad at you for trying to return their cattle/subjects. Then you offer to build a fence/wall so their cattle stay in their pasture? Then they still don't like the idea? I totally get what you're saying...

I have seen the mess the Feds do of things for years. They come in and mess things up royally, not listening to the local cops that know the people. They ignore minor concerns, chuckling at them and the local cops cannot do anything about federal stuff, like someone impersonating an IRS or FBI agent on the phone.

The locals got an advantage, they get to know the locals, they know the troublemakers. There is some bias against outsiders here, not just minorities, also tourists and newcomers from other big cities. They do not want them coming here and taking over and forecing us to plant flowers in our yards. Some of these society people will not let us park our snowmobiles in our driveways or yards or change our tires at home in the driveway. I think high society people are more disliked here than Mexicans by a longshot.

At least you're asking the right question.

If you asked the vocal majority here, they seem to believe abolishing ICE means open, un-controlled borders where anyone can come in unchecked.

Abolishing ICE outright is absurd, especially when the bill will fail to get passed anyway, but it just needs fine tuning.

Seems American politics is now about who can overreact more.

Abolishing ICE means removing the people that handle things like human trafficking, child porn, and gang related violence. Not to mention investigates people bringing drugs and other illegal shipments over the border. ICE does far more then just catch illegals.

If the nutbags running CA get their way I would seriously consider moving. But as of right now. Northern California is just as good/bad as anywhere else in this country IMO.

The majority of Democrats, I believe over 60% support immigration laws and don't want open borders. And a much larger majority of Republicans support zero tolerance for illegal immigrants.

But for some damm reason the voters in my state keeps putting the mentally unfit in charge.

So dramatic.

That's the design.

But ignore it and it'll all just work out.

Who says I ignore it? I approve of DARPA R & D and keep up with all of the public projects. I expect then to have secret projects since they're DOD.
