I say this with true regret....the Democratic party is only a couple of months away from dying. It may get rebranded and relaunched...but I suspect the losses in 2018 will make them effectively dead.

When the GOP had the whacko offshoots start to crop up, they infiltrated and stopped them (to my dismay initially, until the racists showed up). They didn't let them push the entire party to a hard right stance (and thus, the alt-right was born). The DNC didn't do this. They followed the whackadoos and now look....

The only salvation for the DNC is if they can find a firebrand to build their base around. The GOP didn't want Trump, but in the end he's what they needed: someone to get people excited about their brand again.

I won't say there dead however they are on life support. Seems like every time they get a winning issue they find a way to screw it up. They had an excellent issue with children being mistreated at the border. Then they push it to far most Americans are concerned with border security and don't believe anyone should just be able to enter. You have 61 percent saying current border security is inadequate. The Democrats should have taken advantage of the issue with children to push immigration reform. They could have taken the lead and this would have forced Trump to either join them or look incredibly bad at midterms.

Problem is there is a major fight in the democratic party between typical democrats and the sanders side of the party. And many Democrats are still mad about the rigged election. So prepare for more upheaval as we see socialists square off with Democrats.

Imagine the illegals crossing then and the violence chaos that will ensue if the border isn't secured. Trump will end up looking like Abraham Lincoln and George Washington and his opponents will be branded anarchists, at best. But I do worry that the deep state may target some high profile dem politicos and hope by removing them or killing others they'll stir up and motivate the base the dems are at risk of losing. African americans and the senior citizens. We've seen deep state hit jobs recently.... the shooting of rep. Scalise and the Las Vegas massacre. Those were designed to derail a simple vote on silencers, now they may use terror as a means of getting people to the polls. They've shot up schools, let bombs go off in public places, they are capable of any deparavity.
