However, thanks to this mans stupidity, he had to make it political.

He MADE it political? I'd counter that wearing a MAGA hat is political.
I don't think so at all and you're delibrately trying to bait me into a bladed edge.

Was the customer promoting and pushing an agenda or narrative? That would result in his expulsion? Him wearing his hat and remaining respectful to the community is no different then a dude wearing a Company slogan or sports team hat, chillin' and mindin' his business.

I wear my MAGA because I think it looks great.

Did you know, despite all this media rhetoric, I've never had one person approach me while wearing this hat? Yeah, like, tf? I was hoping to be put on YT and draw mobs, lol.

Not that was reported. Although wearing any hat while dining is poor form.

Hardly. What "company" or team does a MAGA hat represent? I'm not defending the action but you said the manager made it political. I contend the hat made it political.

If there was a stated dress code with 'no hats' on the policy, which there wasn't, then I can understand, otherwise tough shizz, have fun looking for a new job.

Dress code casual...with outdoor, patio dining.
Photos online of folks dining with hats, sunglasses, shorts, etc.

Because your cultural norm is the only one that is acceptable? Many middle eastern people would tell you uncovering the head would be poor form.

You only believe what you believe because you were raised to believe that. So anyone who wasn't raised with your cultural values is in poor form.

How progressive and inclusive of you.

Ok, so no provocation from the customer, regardless of poor form.

I'll let the audience determine that and if any indication from this thread, people also would agree that this customer did nothing wrong and that any gear with a perceived political slogan would made no difference in decision.

Why? The manager NOT done anything and the customer ate his food and went on his merry way, would the story still be political?

*Breaking* Man with MAGA hat eats at local eatery, simple dining? Or promoting political agenda? Tune in at 6*

See how, respectfully, stupid that looks? Yeah, you're not gonna come at me with that and frankly, you're just trying to find some way to interject a non thing.

Nope, the manager discriminated and paid the price.

Well the next time I'm dining in Afghanistan I'll make sure to wear some headgear.

I haven't defended the actions of the manager at all. But saying a MAGA hat isn't political is disingenuous.

The restaurant is a place of public accomodation, wearing a hat is not a danger to public health nor was it disrupting business.

Intrepid, the laws regarding public accommodation in Canada are simliar to the US, yes?

Actually they're more open here. The Red Hen episode wouldn't have flown up here.

Well, I'll say this as someone who voted for Trump. I might wear a T-shirt or hat out in public to just run around. But in todays political environment??? NO WAY IN HELL, would I go anywhere to get food prepared for me! No telling what some of these TDS sufferers might do to your food.

For every story we hear about, I wonder how many we aren't hearing?

How many subtle acts of discrimination are going on that we never hear about?

Who cares? Does it matter?

People have the right not to serve.

And restaurant managers have the right to sack people who wont serve.

Free society and Free market.

How much food is being spit in MAGA wearing people's food?

Where else is this discrimination being done?

Well if your stupid enough to wear a MAGA hat.......

Hell if your stupid enough to wear a I love Hillary or Obama hat I would not have much sympathy either.
People that shout out there politics in pubic are normally arrogant dumb morons.

Indeed.

The restaurant manager was squarely in the wrong then, as far as I can see.

II never said people should not be free to wear what they want.

But I still think people that wear there politics either left or right are idiots.

But the I am British, we are not so crass in our politics. We just have 6 weeks or election arguments then settle down for 5 years and all bitch at the politicians themselves.

This happened at a teahouse in Vancouver, B.C Canada. With trump aggressively trying to push Canada around and Vancouver being a very left, progressive city no one should be surprised. Of course the manager lost his job, the worst part is now Cult 45 gets to wallow in victimhood, their favorite pastime.

Two days later, manager is fired because of the incident.

Fired by the owner of the business?

If that's the case then I am all for it.

If the owner had kicked the maga hat wearing guy out I would be all for that as well.

Business owners should have more say in what happens in there business.

Eventually, we will hear about cleaning fluid in someone's meal. Mark my words.

It used to be a cultural value that politics and religion stay out of the work place. Whatever happened to that?

That is attempted murder and hopefully will be treated as such.
