You know that a justice must be approved by a Senate vote, right?

I would imagine that is why Chuck is trying to stall.

Gosh. Really?
I would imagine that's why McConnell wants to hustle.

Ummm...heehawhawhaw...Phage...I don’t care what my mom hollers down from the top of the basement stairs...

I have a feeling he's going to be disappointed... that blue wave is looking more like a blue ripple with each passing day.

Especially with Mad Maxine Waters campaigning for the Republicans...

They realise that Hillary would have been beaten by a socialist.
They want usher it in, so as not to lose the moderate Democrats that "could" vote for them.
I don't think they know that moderate democrat has long left the party.
They should change the name of their party and get it over with.

What would the mid=term elections have to do with it anyway? Why wait. It is not like were going to have a new President, unless Shumer is trying to tell us something.
That was the first thing that came to my mind. Translated: "Wait until Trump is Impeached" and let the new president pick one...

Trump will be impeached before November?
Really?

Maxine Waters is drafting a bill.

🚬😵

Ummm...did you say...Maxine Waters is drafty a lil...?

A lil...?

It is an imposed Nazi-style takeover attempt of the judicial system of the highest court in the land.

Did you remember it was a Presidential election?

Mid-term elections are a commentary from the voters on how the administration is representing them. They're just as important as a the presidential elections, because they help balance the people's will.

Don't fear the reaper....

Sweety, I've shaken his hand three times in my life now.

And you are correct, the midterms are a referendum as well.

However, in this particular case a supreme court justice that is basically a constitutionalist will be replaced by someone who is a constitutionalist. Without the liberal swing vote thing.

Someone who doesn't just re-write the constitution from the bench.

The Progressive Johnson said that the most important thing the Progressive movement can do to further the cause was to infiltrate the Supreme Court.

If you liberals want laws changed, don't do it from the bench. There is already a mechanism in place that the founders put there to do that.

Pass an Amendment to said Constitution.

Instead of back-dooring things into place like you have to always do.

I am so happy today that this didn't happen under Hillary... it would have doomed our little democratic Republic experiment.

Imagine if Hillary had been a better candidate...she'd have been the one to be able to appoint at least two (three? four?) more SC Justices.

It would not surprise me if Chuck really believes that. He thought Hilary was a shoe in.

Well I can't say that it can't be done, but it would require more work than they are willing to put into it.

This is a prime example of where a door, that should never have been opened, was opened and the other side is going to exploit it.

While, yes in 2016, it was a presidential election going on. However, this is very similar in nature, the majority of congress, both the House and the Senate is up for re-election. And the democrats are correct, as the standard was set by McConnell, who exploited, the prior time that this happened.

So now it comes full circle, and all it is going to take is 3 Republican senators to agree and the confirmation will wait until Jan.

And be shut down by a senate not controlled by the GOP. Hence McConnell already talking about rushing this thing through.
