Mr whining crying Senator Chuck Schumer is livid now that a Supreme Court Justice has announced retirement.

Now he wants the Senate to delay a nomination confirmation until after the November elections.

He cites the "Biden Rule" and highlights how the Senate did that in 2016 when Scalia died.

But he forgets to emphasize that was a Presidential election.

And of course he figured (at the time) it didn't matter because Hillary was going to win anyway right?

At least he gets to watch Trump get 1 or 2 more after this one too !! 😃

Schume r Demands Congress Wait Until After Midterm Elections to Confirm Kennedy Replacement

On Wednesday, Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy announced he will be retiring from the bench at the end of July.

Kennedy, 81, has been a noted swing vote on the court with his decisions often determine the deciding vote on a court split 4 to 4 between liberals and conservatives even though he was considered a conservative, having been appointed by President Reagan in 1987.

President Trump is reportedly choosing Justice Kennedy’s replacement from a list of 25 judges – the same list he chose Justice Neil Gorsuch from last year.

When will they realize that they don't have or support a viable platform?

The Biden rule is not a rule. It is an imposed Nazi-style takeover attempt of the judicial system of the highest court in the land.
And , Schumer demands ? Schumer can demand a lot. Then he must tuck tail between legs and move on. As usual.

edit on 6/27/18 by Gothmog because: (no reason given)

excuse me, didn't y'all cheer when they, with no legal basis, decided obama didn't get to nominate a justice even tho he had a year left in his term?

at least have the sack to own your hypocrisy.

Gotta love the fact that the right is finally admitting to employing Nazi tactics!

OK, fair is fair. I don't have a problem with them waiting until after the midterm.

What would the mid=term elections have to do with it anyway? Why wait. It is not like were going to have a new President, unless Shumer is trying to tell us something.

Did you remember it was a Presidential election?

You know, where we elect the President and not congress critters.

Besides, Democrats wrote the rules on stalling nominations.

Like they are doing now.

apparently their new platform is a radical shift in government to a socialist police state where you are no longer armed and capable of defending yourself from that police state

That is true. You can actually see how thin the dem leadership are becoming. Their system is broken and they have no idea how to fix it.

Unfortunately for Schumer his party does not have the power to block a nomination on their own.

The fun part will be to see if the Republicans can work with each other long enough to secure a new conservative judge. My bet is that they can't.

Mid-term elections are a commentary from the voters on how the administration is representing them. They're just as important as a the presidential elections, because they help balance the people's will.

Don't fear the reaper....

That is a good question about the Republicans. I think we might be seeing the start of the breakdown of the system as a whole. I can see 3 or 4 different party's in the Dems and maybe the same for the conservatives maybe 2, possibly 3. Exiting times indeed.
