Was the Old Testament Already Committed to Scripture When Jesus Was Alive, or not?

In the modern world, we have numerous versions of the Bible, which despite their differences, are all comprised of the Old and the New Testaments. If I'm not mistaken, the Bible itself (themselves) is comprised of stories taken from various sources and writers and compiled over the years at different times. The Book of Revelation for example is alleged to have been penned 60 - 90 years after Jesus' ascension, and furthermore, which specific "John" wrote it is still contested to this day.

In the New Testament, Jesus refers to some of the people which feature in the Old Testament, including Solomon and Daniel the prophet.

So my questions are these:

1. What persons from the Old Testament did Jesus actually mention Himself, as opposed to those who were only mentioned by the author of any particular Bible "Book" (Matthew, Mark, whoever)?

2. At the time of Jesus' crucifiction, were the Books of the Old Testament already penned? Were those stories/histories present in the Torah? Or were they at that time still only passed on by word of mouth?

Sorry if this is a dumb qn...

They where written after. Some 40 years after his death and some later than that. The gospals where not put togehter to form the new testament till Constantine ruled rome, way after Jesus.
