the deliberate and unlawful killing of one person by another; murder.

That is not a legal definition.

White Hats?

In big pharma? Expecting a unicorn like that to run with the big pharma herd is like expecting a zebra to go for a leisurely jog with a pride of lions!

Galaga like the video game? Anywho..

FYI- I only typed the body from "Conspiracy" onwards. I was a cop in Ca. and worked in a multi-ethnic; multi-cultural municipality that led the league in Homicides/murder ( Ca. Penal Code section 187 p.c. )

Been there, did done that and even have blood on My t-shirt...

Are You sure You're not thinking about the "degrees" of Redrum? Because as ATS™ member 'SeaWorthy' (Ye Ol' Tar) pointed out at the foot of page #1- Homicide is Murder. Murder IS Homicide.

Now - Was this a 'crime of passion'? Or was it premeditated? "Malice a forethought"?

I'm thinking this is what You meant?

But then again I see where You made an edit, would this be:

Your FINAL answer?

Here are Your Ca. Legal Definitions:

187 p.c. Homicide

192 p.c. Voluntary Manslaughter

It happened in Ca. so there is that AND another State's Legal Definition is like teats on a boar hog...

Yes. Both murder and voluntary manslaughter (as well as involuntary manslaughter and vehicular manslaughter) are classified as homicides.

All murders are homicides but not all homicides are murder.

Murder or manslaughter. Two different things. Not the same thing. Either, or. Not both.

To make the killing either murder or manslaughter, it is not requisite that the party die within three years and a day after the stroke received or the cause of death administered. If death occurs beyond the time of three years and a day, there shall be a rebuttable presumption that the killing was not criminal.

A scientist mysteriously killed while camping with his two young daughters died from being shot in the head, according to the coroner's office.

Tristan Beaudette, 35, was gunned down at about 4:45 a.m. Friday at Malibu Creek State Park in Southern California, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office and Department Medical Examiner said. No one else was injured, the sheriff's office said.

At least five other shootings were reported in and around the park in the last several years, leaving at least one person injured, according to The Los Angeles Times.

The sheriff's department said it hasn't found any direct links with previous shootings and Beaudette's killing but that it is reviewing some of the earlier incidents, according to the Times.

ABCnews.go.com - 'Selfless' dad and scientist killed on camping trip with young daughters was shot in head: Coroner.

That seems a bit more meaningful than an accident. Execution style. Possible serial killer. Possibly not.
