I know what the laws are. They are wrong and should be changed. Unlikely they will be changed under Trump.
Are you in favor of changing the laws as I am? Do you care about these people who are willing to work hard for a better life, but don’t have enough time or money to go through the lengthy, expensive process to become “legal”?

I think the best qualified person who is legally qualified should get the job, I don't think race should play any role whatsoever.

And there are people here who may not be here legally, but are working their assess off every single day, contributing to our economy and our communities. The vast majority of them are not lazy people, and are not looking for participation trophies. They are looking for work - hard work.

If the best qualified is the white person, why do you not want black people to get jobs? Do you want black people to suffer in poverty while white people get the jobs?

I can ask you those questions, because they are the same kind of questions you were asking me. You know damn well that just because I say the most qualified person should get the job doesn’t mean I want the other person to suffer.

Like I said, you don’t care about them. Just be honest and admit it.

I think the best person should get the job. I don’t think, like you do, that the American should get the job even if they aren’t qualified for it.

The 52-year-old owns 500 acres of wine grapes in Lodi, near Stockton. He tends another 10,000 or so acres of vineyards that belong to several clients across Northern California.
Being the boss used to be fun for Goehring, but his labor problems are wearying.
In the last five years, he has advertised in local newspapers and accepted more than a dozen unemployed applicants from the state’s job agency. Even when the average rate on his fields was $20 an hour, the U.S.-born workers lost interest, fast.
“We’ve never had one come back after lunch,” he says.
