J10 Unclassified (PLAFF releases info for first time)

Basic translation of the two pictures.....

Chinese claim that the J-10's capabilities far surpasses the SU-27 and is at a same level as the latest F-15, Jas-39, Mirage 2000, and Mig-29.

Cockpit include 3 large MFDs designed in a westernized style.

The plane's max lift off weight is 18 tons, can carry 7 tons of weapons which include the latest Chinese made short and mid reange SAMS as well as the Russian made R-73, and R-27. The J-10 can also carry the YJ Series (C-801/802/803) anti-ship cruise missiles.

J-10's radar can track 24 targets at a time and engage 4 of them. It has an 140 KM range forward, and 65 KM rare detection range.

Combat radius 1100KM. Max speed Mach 2.0

J-10 is CAPABLE OF SUPERCRUISE!!!!
The plane also has stealth features.

All the more reason the U.S. needs the F/A-22 if those specs are true.

Im not the best plane guy, so can someone tell me if these specs are any good? Sorry, but im more of a navy guy ? How well is the J10 if the specs are true?

because you have of course flown it and have full access to all details.

I smell hypocracy

You have to be alittle sceptical when you hear "stealth features" about a plane. That can be alot of things many of which could be very minor and not infact make a plane stealth. The retired SR-71 had "stealth features" but was not what we would consider a stealth plane.

Theres a big difference between stealth levels of a F-22 a stealth plane and a J-10 with stealth features.

Exactly!!! The ESRA radar on the New F-15 makes the plane more stealthy. Why?? The fixed aray presents less of a return than does the gimbaled rotating one. Is the F-15 now a stealth plane? The B-1B has features to reduce its radar signature, but it is not what one would term a stealth aircraft either.

A few RCS reduction efforts does not a stealth aircraft make.

The Superhornet has new features to make it more "stealthy" too, but it is not a stealth plane. I think they just mean stuff like that for the J-10.

Bascially it could be down to radar absorbant material... or simply a reduced signature on radar like the Eurofighter.

While not a "stealth" aircraft it might well indeed include some stealth oriented features.

Max speed mach 2? Either PLAAF is doing disinformation or its a slow plane for todays standards, f-15 reaches mach 2.5 and old f-4 phantom mach 2.2.

F-14 isnt one of newest aircrafts but its radar can track 24 targets engage 6 of them and have range of above 200 m in front..
It is not the same level as F-15 or mig-29, especialy their latest models, like mig-29K or F-15 Active or slightly older F-15E.

I believe thats disinformation,the AL-31 powerplant is quite efficent,I strongly believe it can go up to mach 2.3 at least.

Wow, the J10 seems ALMOST as nice as an F14...

Its slower, has a shorter radar range, and can only track half the targets a F14 can.

Imagine that? If the J10's stealth fails it, a 30 year old F14 can shoot the J10 down nearly 100 miles before the J10 can even detect the F14. And another 5 of his buddies too!
