here's the EO.....

Affording Congress an Opportunity to Address Family Separation

I love the title. It makes clear that the EO is still a temporary measure and Congress must do something about it.

And he still going to be tough on illegal immigration. Good.

I think Trump may have gone down in history today ...

(no seriously)

... I can't think of another President who issued an Exectuive Order to reverse their own policies.

That's the real danger that no one seems to see.

Trump reversed nothing. The EO still stands tough on illegal immigration.

I know this is not sinking in, but Trump NEVER made a policy or law or EO that said separate families.

Yes, Trump reversed the effect of the Sessions declaration of "zero tolerance" in April 2018.

I know this is not sinking in, but Trump just, to great fanfare, reversed himself by Exectutive Order.

As I said that's ... very very "Special."

Cool, you didn't deny you were using the children as shields for your open border agenda. I thought so much!

Trump is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't those suffering from TDS.

So, Trump said obey the law. I know that everyone has been around and around about this, but it still amazes me that people would rather support not obeying a law than support changing a law.

Trump didn't just say "obey the law." He directed that every incident have the most severe penalty possible assigned to it.

It still amazes me that we've been enforcing the law for years, that illegal immigration has dropped every year since 2001, and there are still people whining and crying about "not enforcing the law" when we've obviously doing that for years.

You know, that's my thing, personally. If Trump is so magnificent, why does he constantly require these fake accolades to prop him up???

Thanks for that. Here at work I do not have enough time to try and sift through sources, so I appreciate you sourcing that.
Hopefully they can get their ducks in a row in washington and at the border, to straighten this mess out.
It's a bad look for Trump and his team.

Welp, just checked "new" and it looks like he just signed an EO to stop this.
That's good.

Congress and the Supreme Court decided the penalties.

What other laws should our president ignore? Zero Tolerance means no one allowed to break the law.

Should we only prosecute some criminals? How should we go about this?

Read what the DHS has posted to eliminate ignorance.

A fantastic example of Trump pouring gasoline onto a fire before putting it out!

Bravo! MAGA! Chalk up another win!

He didn't 'start' anything except enforcing an existing law. That's it. Like building a wall...it was already approved and funding was removed.

Again, no credit for doing what is right.

Excellent link. It is unfortunate that the libs will never read it and get facts. Don’t remember the study, but isn’t the average span of interest about 20 seconds now? That’s why the libs will only get their real, cough cough, news from CNN and MSNBC. Can’t expect folks to read and comprehend anymore.

You nkow that's not true.

The change started in April with Sessions "zero tolerance" BS.

I gave him credit ... for solving a problem he caused, at least on paper.

Zero Tolerance of law breaking and by-passing on whims.

They are doing things the legal way now, that why an EO took this long.

The laws need to change and/or tightened and/or clarified.

It's Congress, nobody else is to blame.

They were doing it the legal way before without these massive family separations.

Trump said Friday that it couldn't be handled with an EO.

There's a time to admit that you're backing an insane, cruel inhuman policy, Xeunch.

Trump doesn't create the problem but gets blamed for it. Trump fixes the problem and gets beat up for it.

Trump proved you can have laws and obey them and still be fair and compassionate.

These conditions have been going on for a long time. Four different Presidents had the opportunity to do something about this but only one has.

Democrats said it wasn't right to hold children in detention more than 20 days so the law changed to allow them to be placed in foster care with sponsors. Now democrats are complaining that children are being taken away from their parents so we are changing the law again to put the children back in the detention centers. How long will it be until the democrats start complaining about the children being in the detention centers again?

That is what happens when you try to appease someone who is complaining all the time. They just keep complaining no matter what you do. At some point we will need to just stop listening to the complaints and do what we know is right.
