The situation on the southern border makes me sick.

Cool comic, even if its false.

Evil. Nothing else. Deny it all you want.

What's evil is pretending it's for the children when all you want is open borders and the destruction of the United States.

LOL. This is the Republican talking point and a lie. Not one Democrat on the Hill is advocating for open borders. Open borders for immigration is not a Democratic platform and it never was.

Lie.

You can call it whatever you want, but when you endorse free access across the borders without threat or punishment, you are de facto endorsing open borders.

who and how many "endorse free access across the borders"....

Anyone that doesn't think illegal aliens should be punished.

how about those with expired visas?......they make up 43% of illegals here in America.....where's Beauregard Sessions on that?....crickets, not a peep....white European illegals, hey no problem....poor brown latino illegals, now those are the ones that need punishment......

Wrong. Crossing the border to ask for asylum isn't illegal.

The USA adheres to The 1951 Refugee Convention Protocols, which promised that asylum seekers who enter the US between entry ports won't be charged with criminal entrance.

Article 31: Refugees unlawfully in the country of refuge
1. The contracting states shall not impose penalties, on account of their illegal entry or presence, on refugees who, coming directly from a territory where their life or freedom was threatened in the sense of article on, enter or are present in their territory without authorization, provided they present themselves without delay to the authorities and show good cause for their illegal entry or presence.

So how do you know who is an illegal and who is an asylum seeker?

Because business relies on cheap illegal employees.

It's bad on both sides of the aisle.

Adjudication.

Asylum seeking families have traditionally been allowed to stay together until adjudication. If they fail to qualify, they're deported, together.

so, we need them, yet you all are cool with seperating their children?

how do you feel about this -

Birth tourism is a booming industry thanks to the growing middle- and upper-class in Russia and China. These families have no plans to work in the U.S. or pay U.S. taxes as their child grows. Rather, U.S. citizenship is an extra security blanket that the wealthy give themselves after months-long vacations on Miami’s beaches. It also gives their kids a shot at financial aid at U.S. schools and easier access to jobs in the U.S.

After the child turns 21, he or she can also apply for family reunification, to get her parents and non-citizen siblings green cards to come to the U.S.

Really, the race card again? It is very sad that it all has to do with playing the race card.

Illegal is illegal... White, brown, black, blue or polka dotted. If they are here with an expired visa, track them down, ship them out. If they come across the Canadian border, or land a row boat on Virginia Beach, and they are not legal, pack um up and ship um.

Did you suddenly come down with the sickness ? It's been US law for quite a while, the last administration was also guilty of what people are referring to as Trumps policy.

Since it is law then Congress must fix it. Instead of circus tours to detention centers, how about they get to work drafting new legislation that solves the detention issue, DACA, and our sad immigration laws.

The President presented one idea for DACA already that went further than what some wanted, it was rejected since some would rather die in a nuclear blast than allow the current administration what they could call a win.

Yes, if it is a case of recent illness, then just chalk it up to that new released virulent strain of virus otherwise known as TDS or Trump Derangement Syndrome. Just a couple aspirin and a good cry in the safe closet and you'll be fine

The law has been under the books but no president has been heartless enough to actually separate the kids from their parents en masse the way Trump is doing now. What you are repeating is technically#fakenews

It makes me sick that that families all over the world are being delayed from being reunited because the system is so backed up while dealing with lawbreakers who jumped in front of everyone else.

It makes me sick that I have a relative in a foreign country that was locked away for religious practice and his family was left without a provider. We have waited 4 yrs for help doing things the legal way while lawbreakers are skipping the line.

Stop being ignorant--it's only legal to enter an established port of entry when seeking asylum. If you enter our country any other way, regardless of intent, you will be detained under suspicion of a crime.

Also, one cannot seek asylum for reasons such as poor financial outlook in one's country, so seeking work and a better education for one's children (two appropriate examples, here) are not grantable reasons for asylum.

And did you know that, even if you enter at an established port of entry (as one is supposed to do, otherwise their entry is illegal) and request asylum, you will still be most likely detained in a facility until a decision is made concerning your request? Of course, you can request "parole" that will release you from the facility, but you must meet certain requirements before that will be approved, and it's not a guarantee.

Pretty funny about not sounding so misinformed, eh? Your own comment contains half-truths, false generalizations, and misleading claims. I'll break it down for you:
    - Yes, it's legal to seek asylum, but only at ports of entry.

    - Show us how these families are "forced to cross the border illegally," because that's a pretty unsubstantiated claim.

    - Yes, people get arrested for misdemeanors all of the time, but from what I understand, it's only a misdemeanor on your first illegal crossing--I doubt that all of these people are first-timers (but I can't prove it, either, so I won't claim it as a fact)

    - Their kids are not "taken under false pretenses"--that is a blatant falsehood meant to incite emotional reactions

    - Who is deported without whom? And how often does this occur? You make it seem like it's the policy 100% of the time, and anyone with a bit of cognitive ability knows that to be false.

    - Yes, it has been like this for the past twenty years, it's just that a certain president pretended that he had the authority to ignore immigration law, so the parents got released on the timeframe that was meant only for the children.

    - Accusing other people of sounding misinformed when you dissect your own comment is outright hilarious.

Best regards.

Just for fun

It is point blank wrong. Laws need to be changed around that. To come here to have your baby, just so they can become dual citizens, is wrong. I say unless you were here on a visa or other legal way for a substantial amount of time, BEFORE you became pregnant, the child should not be considered to have dual citizenship. JMO

That isn't true. Asylum seekers who enter through non-entry points are required to turn themselves into border agents ASAP.

Also, immigrants who have been arrested in ICE raids can also claim asylum, as long as they haven't been here for more that 1 year.

Trumpsters have turned into Vulcans all logic no emotion. Yet their logic has been hijacked by fear and a resistance to change. Trump wants to make America great again, by isolating us and pissing off all of our allies and talking up dictators like Putin and Kim. The scary part is his supporters will support him to the gallows.

Obviously we cannot take in all these immigrants, what we should do is tighten up border security, work with countries south of the border to fight their crime/corruption and help boost their economies so their people aren't fleeing en masse. We should make it easier for decent hard working people to immigrate here legally and make the vetting process stricter but we should also encourage people to stay in their home countries to help make them better places to live.

What really is sick is that after the election, the same people crying over the children will forget about them and ignore them.

The leftists are using and abusing the children for political points.

Precisely what's going on. They didn't care about these kids until they needed an issue for the midterms. And the policies they want will encourage child trafficking. That's what's sickening.

What does that have to do with the topic?

All I'm saying is that it has become apparent that you and others are for open borders since you don't think that illegal crossing should be punished.
