Was the ‘Law to Separate Families’ Passed in 1997 or ‘by Democrats’?

We always argue, like it's one way or the other, never considering other options. We don't need to separate families.

We can have compassion and still stop families from crossing the border.

How hard would that be? If we catch a family crossing the border...we round them up and we "detain' them until we can return them. All the while keeping them together. It's really not that hard. LOL

...and what facility do we detain these families in? They can't traverse from Mexico to the USA without going through horror stories of being raped and mugged by fellow illegals (among other predators), yet we can place them in joint detention centers and magically not have veritable rape and molestation clearance houses forming within federal property walls? Bullcrap! The present solution is the only solution to handle these illegals (children included) between capture and release back into the countries they actually belong in.

So two strikes against them, crossing illegally without seeking asylum and trafficking children.

I say 3... it is incredibly dangerous to cross the border illegally...days in the desert, or some sketch dude cramming you in a semi-truck. it should come with a mandatory "endangering the welfare of a minor" charge as well IMHO.

Yea, until you put them in cages, then that will be the big issue. What if.......we found a way to stop them from crossing in the first place............nope, I can't think of a single thing to help in that department.

And, serious question, where do we capture them at? In El Paso....walking down main street San Antonio...or literally right at the border? Still not good to rip families apart. And I'd like to ad that it would be pretty easy to tell if there was an actual family crossing the border as apposed to a random group of creepy guys and children. Just saying. Maybe they should hire us instead of the idiots they have down there now?

Oh I already mentioned that. More border agents, more processing agents, and the resources those agents are asking for. Again, really easy.

Secondly, we could actually WORK with our neighbor to the south and ask them what they might need to help make their border more secure. Another easy genius solution.

Yes I agree, three it should be. There should be zero tolerance when it comes to endangering children.

According to a stunning Fusion investigation, 80 percent of women and girls crossing into the U.S. by way of Mexico are raped during their journey.

[SNIP]

Rape can be perpetrated by anyone along the way, including guides, fellow migrants, bandits or government officials

The difference? The cases are being treated as criminal and not civil. Real simple. It is not a civil case. It is criminal case because they are illegally crossing the border.

The other thing is the media and Trump haters are starting to blur asylum seeker with illegal alien. If you take a look the media has 'slowly' been adding this to their reporting.

Also, when they seek asylum they will ALWAYS be detained longer than the US can legally hold a child according to the Flores Consent Decree from 1997.

So when the IG report was released, Stormy Daniels is fading. Comey losing it and North Korea was a success (as well as the SCOTUS ruling on the gay wedding cakes) there is NOTHING for the #Resistourgovernment movement to attack but something racial.

This month it is Illegal aliens because the black job market is doing so well. Can't say Trump is racist when black people are getting jobs easier under him than a president who is black.

The only card they have not played yet is Pro-Life/Pro-Choice and I would say they will wait for Christmas to use the religious/evangelical angle against Trump.

The problem is, how do you detain multiple families in a facility and keep them protected from essentially each other? The current system would seem to be the best idea... men housed with men, women with women, girls with girls, boys with boys. It isn't perfect, but it is the smartest way of saving these children from the horrors of their parents' bad decision to disregard the law.

Once you convince your cult followers that immigrants from Latin American countries are rapist, drug dealing animals, they will see these people as less than them, hence all the bootlickers here defending this travesty. You have zero morals. Less than zero.

Most crossing are pow's from an unjust war on drugs.

I just wonder who keeps funding the war?

exactly.. but logic dictates that you would still keep a group together with the children they crossed with. At least at first. You don't just rip children away.. That's how you figure out what's really going on. Still pretty easy.

Should the child be jailed with their parents?

amiwrong?

is there a war on drugs?

are the migrants coming from countries effected by the war on drugs?

is it proper to detain pow's or to release them?

Usually they are kept until the war is over.

Perhaps part of a solution would be to end the war on drugs in order to take power away from the gangs?

Just a thought but apparently there is not much difference in the amount of users percentage wise when drugs were legal.

So why not legalize and decriminalize and take away the cash cow for the gangs.

That's pretty naive to think that traffickers are just groups of creepy guys. Have you ever seen the comedy movie We are the Millers?

Also the idea that you posited on the first page; that it's cheaper if we do this or that (paraphrasing), are you just saying that, or do you have some sources to show?
