When I see one side of the political discussion compare the president to Hitler, and then Stalin (in a general totally lacking in specifics way) it makes it really hard to work up the energy to even get into a discussion with them.

If yall have a problem with a policy, stand on that, if you just hate him because hes orange and a prick, fine stand on that.

Other wise you short circuit your own credibility by making those general statements, and typically it derails the thread anyways as things devolve into a no you argument.

Yeah, peace might really suck if it happened on the Korean peninsula.

And use that same justification when you start endorsing raising taxes.

It'll be a hoot!

Peace in our time? Ask David Lloyd George.

Some taxes do need to be raised mostly on higher income brackets.

There's no reason that the poor and the middle class should have to subsidize the rich.

Also, it'd be nice if like the rest of us big corporations paid their fair share, eh?

We tax a lot of stuff in this country...income taxes are one of the least efficient (and to all the Norquist nut-huggers, a tariff is a tax and they’re the SINGLE worst kinda tax). Taxing income beyond and/or below a threshold is pointless.

Why don’t we tax pollution? It works. Like really well and is really efficient. Alas, it’s out of sight, out of mind...that paycheck is weekly/bi-weekly/monthly and never out of sight.

Tax pollution upstream and you effectively get “big corporations paid their fair share, eh?” That’s not hyperbole. That is truly the best way to attain that goal — not taxing their profits (e.g. income).

The only thing that differs with the Trump administration and the movement which ushered him into office, is that the concentration camps have not yet been opened, and the mass murder has not yet begun. That is literally the only difference.

Wow
guess i missed that whole Blitzkrieg and world war and take over most of europe thing

If they did not commit a crime, why are they being punished?

Last I checked, Illegal Immigration was still illegal. Hence why people who immigrate to this country legally don't have this problem.

Don't worry: once you get used to treating children like cattle their lives become subject to cost benefit analysis... and culling becomes a viable option.

You do know those pictures of the kids in cages was from 2014 right? Who was president then? Why were none of you all butthurt about it then? Cos' Trump and all.

Besides, Trump is merely enforcing the immigration laws laid out by Hussein. Enforcing the laws is the mans job.

That is a lie, of course. But that's off topic.

www.whitehouse.gov...

The President is responsible for implementing and enforcing the laws written by Congress and, to that end, appoints the heads of the federal agencies, including the Cabinet.

Get your facts straight before you accuse people of lying. I don't know what makes you people think the world cares about your feelings.

The Nazis were great for some Germans for a little while,

Of course, any Trump bashing thread is not complete without a reference to Hitler, proving you know absolutely nothing about history, or civics.

An easy win would be to not separate families like him, then.

So you would make those poor little kids sit in jail with their parents?

Where's your humanity?

- cult of personality (just like the Nazis had)
- inhumane seperation of kids from their mothers (just like the Nazis did)

What you need is a Brave New Flag and more concentration camps with better plumbing, not a discussion with some libturd shill!

Fracking makes gas super cheap.

And is possibly damaging bedrock, destroying our aquifiers, and the natural water supply. But hey there's always coal, right?

Fossil fuels will be phased out in the next 100 years.

I would be quite happy if the powers that be were to find a way to mine and capture the methane currently embedded in the now-thawing permafrost. That would be a decent fuel source.

All that happened after the prosecution of political enemies. So yes, the concentration camps came first.

Once in power, Hitler moved quickly to end German democracy. He convinced his cabinet to invoke emergency clauses of the constitution that permitted the suspension of individual freedoms of press, speech, and assembly. Special security forces — the Gestapo, the Storm Troopers (SA), and the SS — murdered or arrested leaders of opposition political parties (Communists, socialists, and liberals). The Enabling Act of March 23, 1933 — forced through the Reichstag already purged of many political opponents –gave dictatorial powers to Hitler.

READ: Jewish Reactions to the Enabling Act (March 24, 1933)

Also in 1933, the Nazis began to put into practice their racial ideology. The Nazis believed that the Germans were “racially superior” and that there was a struggle for survival between them and inferior races. They saw Jews, Roma (Gypsies), and the handicapped as a serious biological threat to the purity of the “German (Aryan) Race,” what they called the master race.

Jews, who numbered about 525,000 in Germany (less than one percent of the total population in 1933) were the principal target of Nazi hatred. The Nazis identified Jews as a race and defined this race as “inferior.” They also spewed hate-mongering propaganda that unfairly blamed Jews for Germany’s economic depression and the country’s defeat in World War I (1914-1918).

Call it operating fees ... Distribute it according to services used.

Well. That would be the last Obummer policy The Don didn't touch, if it were true. Which it isn't, but your point would've been moot regardless.

I'm not the idiot seperating kids from their mothers while jabbing about freedom and democracy. Nobody said that he is Hitler, or Stalin for that matter. But there's a development towards straight fascism in combination with a cult of personality.

Make brown coal great again! How fitting.

If you're referring off-handedly to my post to Jin ... we were talking about cult of personality and how common it is to compare that to Hitler. Jin suggested others and thus I asked like who Stalin?

It's not matter of a rational policy discussion.

Besides were I comparing cults I'd probably bring up Jim Jones before Stalin personnally.

Fair point..

There are people that attacked anyone critical of Obama for 8 years, saying they were racist because the only reason to have a problem with him was obviously race related.

So honestly whats the difference between him and the people that defended everything he did and the people that excuse everything Trump does?

Keep in mind, in my opinion if actual evidence comes up concerning wrong doing involving Trump directly then by all means impeach and prosecute.
