The Department of Justice inspector general identified a number of instances where FBI employees regularly spoke with members of the media and received a number of free perks from journalists including meals and tickets to various events.
On page XII in the report, the IG says the department âidentified numerous FBI employees, at all levels of the organization and with no official reason to be in contact with the media, who were nevertheless in frequent contact with reporters.â
The IG expressed âprofound concerns bout the volume and extent of unauthorized media contacts by FBI personnel that we have uncovered our review.â
As we also describe in Chapter Twelve, among the
issues we reviewed were allegations that Department
and FBI employees improperly disclosed non-public
information regarding the Midyear investigation.
Although FBI policy strictly limits the employees who
are authorized to speak to the media, we found that
this policy appeared to be widely ignored during the
period we reviewed.
We identified numerous FBI employees, at all levels of
the organization and with no official reason to be in
contact with the media, who were nevertheless in
frequent contact with reporters. Attached to this report
as Attachments E and F are two link charts that reflect
the volume of communications that we identified
between FBI employees and media representatives in
April/May and October 2016. We have profound
concerns about the volume and extent of unauthorized
media contacts by FBI personnel that we have
uncovered during our review.

An investigation nor investigator are required to be unbiased...
The judge is required to be unbiased. The jury is required to be unbiased..
The cops and prosecutors are supposed to think you are guilty.. or they shouldnât be charging/investigating you.
The Justice Department inspector general on Thursday castigated former FBI Director James B. Comey for his actions during the Hillary Clinton email investigation and found that other senior bureau officials showed a âwillingness to take official actionâ to prevent Donald Trump from becoming president.
An FBI official says the bureau is not working to collect messages between anti-Trump FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, despite the request to do so from a top Republican senator as well as evidence suggesting they communicated about âwork-relatedâ matters on non-FBI accounts.
