Proposal to split California into three states

There is apparently a proposal coming in November to split California into three states. And the people of California have gotten signature to put this on the ballot.

I mean if this passes I could see other states doing this. I remember an eerie prediction my Uncle told me, that he thought one day or in the future that we as the United states will balkanize and separate into regions.

There is zero chance there is ever a unanimous consensus on anything ever..

It took the civil war to split them previously.

The Bay Area is already part of Northern California. So that wouldn't change.

The constitution clearly states that no new state can be formed from an existing state without a unanimous consensus from even the states boardering the states.

What the constitution says:

Section 3

1: New States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union; but no new State shall be formed or erected within the Jurisdiction of any other State; nor any State be formed by the Junction of two or more States, or Parts of States, without the Consent of the Legislatures of the States concerned as well as of the Congress.

2: The Congress shall have Power to dispose of and make all needful Rules and Regulations respecting the Territory or other Property belonging to the United States; and nothing in this Constitution shall be so construed as to Prejudice any Claims of the United States, or of any particular State.

Yeah you are right to add a state yeah I forgot about that. I thought it was more 10th amendment and the state could succeed.
