Etihad Airways in talks to cancel, defer Boeing 777X orders

Airbus has been taking a few hits in terms of orders but Boeing now is also running into turbulence. According to Reuters, Eithad Airlines is looking to cancel some or all of its 777X's. It has 25 on order. More worrisome for Boeing is that they are unconcerned by any penalties they may incur in doing so.

They still have other customers and it will no doubt sell well long term but this could signify that there is going to be further downturn or at least mroe than we have seen.

They've been in trouble for a couple years now. They started talking about a major fleet restructuring last year. They are returning a number of 777s, put their A330s up for sale, and grounded their A340s.
