You have it sort of backwards. North Korea has been wanting a meeting with the POTUS for years. It's not like Trump had to go to him "on his knees" for this meeting.

Ill say watching cnn today they are hoping Trump fails. Sadly they are looking for anything to attack Trump watched them making claims he hasnt prepared for this. Its destined to fail because Kim Jong un has been preparing for months.

Does anyone not see what gappened here? Trumps unorthodox behavior has brought an opertunity that hasnt occurred in 50 years. He started his campaign saying he was going ro solve the crisis in Korea. So even before he was president he said he would solve this. And to his credit he got them to stop launching missiles over japan and cone to the negotiating table.

I think ita becoming obvious him doing things differently is getting results stop rooting against him and hope in the name of world peace qe can finnally end thr Korean war.

He needs money, fuel, resources, and sanctions lifted, before goes country totally goes under. That's what hes there for. Trump wants denuclearization of NK. That's what hes there for

I think Trump played this well.

Those in this thread saying that Kim Jong Un wanted to meet with the US leader for a long time are right. He has always seemed like a small man with an inferiority complex. He acts all tough, just like a playground bully, who is really compensating for fear and low self-esteem. He shoots off his rockets and makes threats, like a child who wants attention.

Sometimes the way to deal with such a bully is to improve his self-esteem, and make him feel a bit appreciated. Show him that he can play nice with others, and they might like him in return. And at the same time, they need to understand that their behavior is self-destructive.

Trump showed Kim what will happen if he continues with the threats and bad behavior. And he showed him what life could be like for the NK if only he played nice with others.

Kim saw the Olympics and Singapore. Kim wants the life that Dennis Rodman has. I think perhaps he really wants the NK to be part of the world. He wants respect. He wants McDonalds and Casinos. Now we just have to see how badly he wants it. Will he really change? Trump has given him a chance. It's up to Kim Jong Un if he takes the chance. And Trump is strong enough to make sure that Kim sticks to the rules and does not play the rest of the world in the process.
