Movies like this make me lol. Release a ‘women empowerment’ movie. Because women can steal as well as men. Women then spend mad money on the film because, cannot lose your ‘women card’ by not seeing it. How is they movie, most won’t say anything negative, because saying something negative is as mysoginistic AF.

except the OP gave a plot-based reason for disliking it, and a feminist website also reviewed it negatively for plot-based reasons.

yes, movies play to dominant cultural ideologies, for good or for ill. especially studio movies.
there's tons of movies with morally bankrupt plots about heists. no need to single this one out just because you're mad it has women in it.

All movies generally have a message. The one here seems to justify crazed lieberal type governments by justifying that it's ok to steal from the people (through a museum in this case which is allegedly a public asset). The stealing is further called to be accepted by using women in "empowering roles" to reduce the amount of criticism for the predominantly ethical bankruptcy of the plot. It basically seems just another franchise gone sideways to promote an agenda, much like starwars. There really doesn't seem to be any point to movies these days other than creating them for the sake of propogandizing a bad idea. Best to look at all movies initially as advertisements for the flavour-of-the-day ideologies of criminals, governments, globalists and special interest groups, because it seems movies and TV are just that.
