There's several factors that go into it, but in general terms you're looking for a low unemployment rate (below 5%) with enough open jobs that people can find alternative work at similar compensation, and low inflation.

Trump stated in 2017, that in 8 years.. national debt would be gone. With around 20 trillion in debt, that equates to 2.5 trillion a year. One year after that statement, national debt climbed to 21 trillion for the first time in our history. He obviously did not manage to drop the deficit 2.5 trillion.. so now it's an uphill battle.

And his sheep are clamoring about 36 billion.. during a time of the year where debt commonly falls. Absolutely flipping hilarious. Cherry picking at its best.. well done!

And the OP is a bit hilarious, since Trump promised that Mexico would pay for this wall. Repeatedly promised.

Surely you just, that Trump has saved on the national debt. Don't forget the $1.4 trillion you will owe Uncle from Donald's tax cuts. Oh, well, maybe I'm wrong; you might be one of the upper class. I'm just guessing you are not.
