I think 24 hours in a day is too much and too long. 20 hours would be enough, so a clock which reads from 10am to 10pm. This would give us 4 hours less per day. I think we'd all be much happier. Still keep the cycle of the rotation and we get an extra 66 days per year. This would also give us longer life spans or more length of a year to our next birthday.

4 hours less per day is equal to:

112 hours after 8 weeks
224 hours after 16 weeks
448 hours after 32 weeks
672 hours after 48 weeks
728 hours after 52 weeks x 2

66 days extra per year so add another 2 Months per year at 31 days
and make feb 31 days and june 31 days.

There we have it. Less working hours aswell. Do you all see the benefits? Could also make it so we have 15 Months per year but we'd have to make all the Months around 28 days in length.

It's been a while since I've seen a water bong.

I've argued the opposite.

I think a day should be 30 hours.

What are you on about?

This thread was meant to be a serious thread, not turned into whatever you're turning it into.

No bloody way. It's too long and too boring and you'd have to work longer too.

What are you talking about?

Lunch would be at 2pm instead of 12pm as there would no longer be a 12pm, although the light would still be the same. And you can still have your main meal at 6pm or 7pm. 3 hours before going to sleep at the new 12am or you can go sleep at 1am or 2am.

How? All you did was move the overall amount of time around.

That's the point, I'm way too busy to get everything done and sleep in 24 hours.

30 hours would work out great.

If your day is too boring, I suggest taking up a hobby.

LOL.

So how would we make sure sunlight is consistent at certain times? You know, like with the current system.

Longer life spans? We'd still be alive for the same amount of time.

There is only so much room on the internet, and you’re filling up space with this?

The rising and setting of the sun is not going to conform to your time line .... So if you started this plan on a Sunday ... By Wednesday your midnight would be during the day at high noon normal time . ... So ...I don't get it ?

Can we bank the extra 4 hours it takes the earth to spin around one time and then at the end of the year use our bank time to stop the world from spinning and all have a long sunny day at the beach?

Actually, if we save enough hours we can go back in time to watch Noah and the dinosaurs build the pyramids.

Only if I can help the aliens move the rocks around. Otherwise, I'd rather go back and watch Ben Franklin invent peanut butter and Galileo sign the declaration of independence.

Do you even know how time works? The earth rotates at a certain speed, which we have broken down into 24.(whatever) hours, rounded off to 24. All you will do by going 10 to 10 is lengthening the time periods we would be using to measure that rate, not actually changing anything.

I don't care for the idea much.
There isn't enough hours, for me, already.
If the sun would stay up longer...maybe.
I think we need more days in a week, 8 just doesn't seem to be enough!
