So going in on a possible suicide attempt unarmed could mean death to the cops if Manning was having a PTSD event.

Manning was an intel soldier. His only experience with weapons is a semiannual qualification range. If he has PTSD it is from his time in prison.

PTSD doesn't translate into violence.

Unless it's Post Trump Stress Disorder.

so does the justification of wars also add to ptsd?

if a soldier can personally justify their actions as good and necessary do they then go on with life with ptsd?

is ptsd just guilt for unjustified actions

there is likely many cases of ptsd where peeps only witnessed the action and never had to make the decision of justification for their own actions.

I wonder which is more common

What is PTSD

PTSD (posttraumatic stress disorder) is a mental health problem that some people develop after experiencing or witnessing a life-threatening event, like combat, a natural disaster, a car accident, or sexual assault.

As to the rest, it's a pretty safe bet you've never worn a pair of boots in defense of your nation.
