Should the Miss America pageant have swimsuits? and why or why not?

I believe that the Miss America pageant should not have swimsuits because...ummm...well it has always had swimsuits and ummm...the USA should work on their education system so that women in china can be more educated and ummm...so that is what I believe. Thank you

*sigh

As stated previously you can still have your T&A beauty pageants elsewhere, but not anymore with Miss America, deal with it.

It should stick in your craw anywhere it's presented.

But not in the land of the free.

Yeah we get it.

Sooner or later they will ban the push up bra, tight jeans, shorts and high heals. Then suits as they can be sexy too. Then they will ban the colored burqa because individuality may make some people feel threatend, thus, every one gets a grey burqa!

Then they will ban paper, meat, gasoline/diesel, alcohol, swear words, porn and then free thought!

It was changed to what the leaders of the Boy Scouts wanted and who thought it was the right thing to do.

It was changed to what the organizers of the pageant wanted and decided was the best course to take to move this in a direction they felt it should go.

No, they were both changed due to political pressure to be politically correct.

Deal with it.

No, you get to deal with it. I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

You see, many years ago I wasn't a de facto hermit. I enjoyed going out to movies, socializing, having a nice meal out... you know, the things most people enjoy. I dearly love Mexican and Italian food and sci-fi movies. But then political correctness appeared, and I was slowly pushed out of society. First I couldn't go anywhere without someone complaining about my smoking... then the ashtrays disappeared from the movie theaters and I was forced to go outside and miss part of the movie I paid to see if I needed a puff of nicotine. Then I had to start being overly cautious about what words I used in what group... what was the word that was accepted this week again? Then restaurants started making me get up and walk outside after eating, smoke my smoke, then come back inside and rejoin the conversation while I finished off my drink. Then airlines decided I wasn't allowed on them either. Bars were fine with a sloppy drunk struggling to crawl to the bathroom (and usually not making it) but light up a smoke and you're some sort of demonic entity.

I was kicked out of society. I never changed; society did, and there was no room left for me.

Your turn is coming, because all this change has taken on a life of its own. You will eventually lose everything you enjoy as well. Tradition and memorials kept us as a people rooted in our basic beliefs; now that those are gone, there is no resistance to change any more. In the space of less than a full generation, everything you take for granted can be wiped away and you can be the next demon to be shunned.

So your little "deal with it" means nothing more than a desperate scream that you have absolutely no comprehension what you are saying. I HAVE DEALT WITH IT. I dealt with your kind demanding that society change to accommodate them and to Hades with anyone else. There's nothing more you can take from me of great consequence. Congratulations; you have your fascist utopia. Can you keep it when everyone else realizes they are being left out in the cold too? Or when suddenly you are the one who enjoys the things others want to destroy?

YOU deal with it.

TheRedneck

No, you are not dealing with it you are holding on to things that others say are not fair or are damaging them in some way and you don't care. Well, it does not matter if you care or not, these changes are being made regardless, so deal with it.

Remember, change is not permanent.

That's why it's called change.

I hear ya, Redneck!

Some change is progression which is in constant flux according to society's progression. We oldies can choose to hang on to the safe and familiar or adapt. I choose to adapt and try to understand others' need for things to change.
I don't hear ya, Redneck!

Are you the god of candles?

It was and still is, all about beautiful women.
Mr America does not seem to be on any the ladies wish list.

Understand it for what it is.

Okay does anyone actually watch it?.
If not why are we bothered? Plenty of other types of entertainment which allows swimwear like swimming

That's when we have to raid other villages for wives.

And toilet paper. '

Coz women will let themselves go.

Tie a pork chop around their neck so even the dog will pay attention to them.

Darwin at work.

There are so many things I could say in response, but I guess I'll just leave it at; sadly it's true.

I guess it all falls into the category of "Watch out what ya' wish for...you just might get it!"

I just feel bad for all the young girls who haven't learned to be bitter fem-nazi's (yet), the ones who would aspire to going up under the lights one day and show off their wares, but their society gives them silence in the space where the big pageants used to be. And now, sadly, their role models will be Billy the butch biker chick parading around the stage with her biker wallet and chain in some old run down warehouse on the bad side of town. A place with shop lights lighting the stage, no TV cameras, no sponsors and nobody really even watching except for maybe more of the same. All of those pretty designer shoes, makeup and pretty models a thing of the distant past. And, as they look around them they are suddenly struck by the fact...everybody lost.

Oh well, I'm too old to worry about it anymore. Perhaps someone will wake up one day and actually care that there really are differences between males and females, and for good reason. And that ever since prehistoric times it was the 'curve' of the woman which inspired the male half of the species to procreate with them. And that highlighting those 'curves' was what it was really all about, from the very beginning.

Did you hear that?

It's the sound of a bunch of TV remotes looking for something else to watch on pageant night because now that none of the contestants are showcasing their beauty, no one cares.

So much for the "beauty" pageant.

I'm not hearing TVs. I'm hearing mouse clicks as people stream online. TV is going the way of the Dodo.

You could also install a hidden camera to tape the blond next door when she sunbathes. That goes way beyond creepy though.

At lest you got a blond, I got the lovechild of Newman from Seinfeld.

It's better if the competition is slightly less about physical beauty. Some young women look up to these miss Americas. I always thought pageants were silly. To see some men complain about this and how feminism is destroying society is laughable.

So we should indulge in a competition of what women is more f!ckable? Your post is silly. Should we celebrate the most basic and shallow aspects of women? Treat them as objects , like they have been for thousands of years..

I'm not saying beauty pageants should be banned, but to think this is the downfall of a great era in woman-hood is hilarious.

Plus the women play that game just as much as the men.
Has anyone ever been surrounded by women at work? They are as bad if not worse then men.

Yeah, it does. Like into the realm of illegal.

So Miss America seems doomed. Too bad. Another thing from my adolescence that I'll miss, when I think about it, which won't be often...

Can they do something about childrens beauty pageants? Please...? Those things sicken me. The very idea is revolting.

Always thought The competition isn't just about showing off your high end designer clothing. but also how well you take care of your physical appearance.

Or are they paving the way for Plus size women to enter? Taking care of you body is much more difficult then purchasing some cloth to cover overeating habits.
