So you have no evidence to post, thought so.

You thought wrong. I simply have no desire to provide market research for a lazy contrarian who should be completely capable of finding it herself without asking any man for help.

What do the returns look like from a show with dwindling viewership?

Thank God we don't live in Victorian times getting all giddy due to an ankle.

OMG WOAH! I had to magnify to 180% to see that sexy ankle! She is lookin FINE! I'd finagle that one! Yes

This needs reported because porn! Where's that feminist when we need her?

What, there's a feminist here on ATS? What is a feminist?

Another one flew right over your head. Maybe you're just a hater. And you just gonna hate.

I always ask that same question, what is a feminist? I want to know...tell me.

Fembot AI kind of reminds me of Tay the Microsoft AI. I wonder if we can retrain it to say "Hitler did nothing wrong."

Really. I am thinking ATS is testing Fembot AI troll on us. Doesn't pass the Turing test. Notice the repetition and disjointed logic.

You have not failed to provide the expected response...who is the bot?

The only relevant aspect of your response is the fact that dwindling viewership means cheaper time slots for advertising.

Cheaper time slots don't require as large of a return to still qualify as a solid R.O.I. for advertisers. Profit is still profit.

The gamble is that by removing the swimsuit portion of the competition they're hoping to bring in a flood of "progressive" viewers like yourself to faithfully tune in annually, thus increasing the viewership, and allowing them to charge more for those advertising time slots once again.

Personally, I think it's a bad business decision on the part of the pageant, and I have serious doubts that you (as a "progressive" non-viewer) will now faithfully tune in each year, but feel free to prove me wrong and start watching it religiously.

Marvel recently attempted to court the "progressive" demographic with many of their comic book series, and it failed miserably. Progressives are a very vocal minority who love to protest and cry "racism! sexism! objectification! etc!", but have a proven track record of not supporting businesses when those business choose to appease the progressive crowd. As long as progressives continue to fail the businesses which bend to their whims it's a poor business decision for any businesses to do so.

The most likely outcome of removing the swimsuit portion of the competition is that the progressives will move on and forget about the Miss America pageant altogether. They might get a slight "curiousity bump" the first year, but it isn't likely to last. Thus, it will continue to lose viewership until the advertising revenues get so low that they can no longer afford to televise the competition, and possibly not be able to afford holding it at all. At that point the scholarships and prizes the pageant provides will dry up and those women will have to find another route to achieve success in their lives. The only other option would be to return to appeasing the highly superficial viewership that had kept the pageant afloat; however, appeasing and winning back that crowd might take some pretty extreme measures since the advent of the internet and what's available to prospective viewers elsewhere.

See what I mean? This is exactly like that psychotherapist bot from 20 years ago.

I think I spotted another troll bot about a week ago.

"You have not failed to provide the expected response" Who talks like that?

Every time I turn on the tv, I see people I can never be, I feel left out! How can they show a guy with perfect teeth who can afford a nice suit and afford an attractive woman. How can they show a guy in a red suit who can run faster than me and a guy with a red cape who can fly? Do you know how much this makes me and other people feel like they are failures?

The stuff they show us is meant to make us feel powerless. They should ban all fiction, all good looking people that have more than I could ever hope to have.

Honestly though, I don't watch tv to judge my self, I watch it to escape the real world and people look at hot people, thinking about what could be. We shouldn't be watching things that offend us just to see how we can ruin and ban it. Don't judge your self on what you see on TV or what the crowd is doing.

The first part of this post was in jest, incase it was missed.

They call it the "boob tube" for a reason.

Now being a man wile men are not looked at as much as woman form this point of view they are and can be looked at .
Heck I would dress out with the wife once in a wile take her some ware high class and every one acted like we were all that and then some .
How you dress really matters . No real women ever igges the swimsuit effect .
Or do you women expect us to believe you ware it just to swim ?

They may take out swimsuits this year next year they will be back they just lost 50 million viewers .
with quite a few being WOMEN .

I like boobs and tubes, even if it is something I can't have. I also can't get a job or at least one I am happy going to, so all jobs should be banned because of me me me metoo!

If things keep going this way, meat will be banned and toilet paper too, enjoy your three seashells.

it's not authoritarian it's progress for women on the sexual objectification front and how women want to define woman's beauty. How many times do I need to repeat myself here? Last time folks.

Let's wait to see what happens with viewership on that show because young girls and young women who may have self-esteem issues (hence the makeup ads) and those that identify as female may want to see the redefining of how a woman can be thought of as beautiful. As I said before, when I did watch it a few times in the distant past, I only enjoyed the talent portion, now there will be more interesting segments for me to see, so I will definitely watch the next one. Let's also remember to keep track of how the advertisers will change up when women without self-esteem issues or women that put physical beauty in the background compete.

This is just another step in dismantling true femininity and replacing it with some green haired land whale who thinks beauty consists of being able to eat an entire brick of cheddar cheese in one sitting.

3rd wave feminist lunatics wont be happy till we are all as miserable as they are...

The other segments are to be accomplishments, goals and perhaps what have they done to better humanity or the environment, so yeah maybe cheese from healthy animals may crop up there somewhere.

It is authoritarian, and once the progressive crowd no longer has anything to take offense over they will abandon the Miss America pageant just like they did to Marvel and other businesses that made the poor decision of appeasing their shifting whims.

They love fighting to change things that they have no intention of supporting after the desired change is implemented.
