Born in Iran but both parents were black. Father was a very accomplished pathologist.

They will not have any body liking our POTUS on their network.

How do you know that? Do you work there?

Very high. It's over the top to sack her when other abc actors/hosts insult the sitting president and his family etc and nothing is done. In fact it is encouraged.

Insult is one thing. I checked out who VJ is and the comment was racist. It was political and it was MASSIVELY stupid.

The fact that one has to check who the target of the joke was, what their appearance, race, etc is prior to judging the "racist-ness" of a joke speaks volumes, man. The joke was rude, but that's as far as I'll go with my judgement on it.

Yeah it says I don't jump to conclusions.

If you don't see the racist aspect to this there something wrong with your logic. X(I don't care who) + PotA = a black political figure. That's racist.

Meh

Some people consider some other people less evolved.

This is a horrible double standard. Horrible but it happens.

She lost a show over a comment. Another old white guy lost a basketball team over a comment. Multiple people have had to resign from 'racist' comments.

However, what is 'racist' about it? Now I am not defending her but take away the 'emotion' and what did she say that was racist?

Inconsiderate? Inappropriate? Ignorant? Sure. But not a fired offense. If that was the case why is anyone on The View? Or late night TV?

The same rules should apply to ALL...

This just means that comedians cannot say edgy or controversial things now.

Don't you think calling that woman an ape is racist?

Is Valerie Jarrett black?

The ape thing pisses me off. We are all apes. All of us. And a bunch of racist assholes 2 generations back have made it a landmine of an issue. So now we get to pretend reality isn't real.

Im curious...does anyone get what she was meaning with that statement? it doesn't make much sense to me.

I was hoping for a Chappelle reboot one day. He'd never survive.

In this day and age, you'd think white folks would know you can't equate black folks to monkeys in any way whatsoever. Roseanne had to be smarter than that...

Really is that what it is.

The ole porch monkey phrase?

How stupid is that for a bunch of evolutionist trying to teach the under educated bout their roots yet at the same time bend the truth as a political weapon while pretending fake outrage to spread to your students.

We all came from monkeys and you are fired for pointing out such. Have a nice day.

At first, I couldn't really make the connection but then I thought about it...

Valerie Jarret does kind of look like one of the planet of apes costumes from back in the day...

That if a black person and an Arab had a child it would be even worse than the PuppyMonkeyBaby?

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that there's folks on ATS who don't understand why calling a black person an ape is staggeringly offensively racist and an instant sacking offense for pretty much anybody. But still, it's pretty depressing.

This place is basically 4chan now isn't it.

I do find it distasteful, but can someone explain to me what was racist about her comments?

Would "evil witch" be a better fit? The weird part is why? Why would Roseanne even be triggered by someone not seen since Obama was in office?
