Let me ask you a question about the house rent blues..which are coming up on me right quick.

I've been whiskey curious for a while. I love gin and tonic, but I feel it's time to grow up and expand my horizons.

I'm overwhelmed. I just stare at the liquor shelf trying to figure out what the difference is between whiskey, bourbon, and scotch. I'm just embarrassing myself there.

What's the way to drink it? I read in a story once that you add water. My first instinct was to splash some over a big ice cube. I asked around. Some say to drink it straight, no ice. Some told me to make a 'sour.'

I'm so lost.

I bought myself some Jim Beam and don't know what to do with it. Any suggestions so I don't embarrass myself again?

Dude it really comes down to how you prefer it.
Myself I prefer red wine and beer when grilling. If it is time for spirits then shots is the only way.
I do like Jack and coke though. But never any Gin.

I've had "aged" scotch and whiskey...

And i've smashed stuff from the value box...lol

It all tastes the same to me...

Alcohol with a touch of flavor...

honestly...

I don't understand how people can drink the hard stuff.... but to each their own

A good whisky is much better than a cheap, or mediocre one. What is "good" is down to personal taste and price. With whisky I found that price was a good determinator.

Sadly, I can no longer stand whisky. I went off it overnight. Now I cannot, and will not, drink any spirits.

Get a thick glass and drink it neat.

Pro tip. If you come down with Flu then mix a measure with green tea, honey and lemon. It will make you feel so much better.

I see whiskey, bourbon, scotch is distilled corn.

Brandy is distilled fruit juice.

I think I like your idea better.

Drain cleaner or maybe disinfect a cut. That's about all it's good for.
For God's Sake don't actually drink the stuff. Safer just to bury it.

If only you could remove the Jim Beam you would have a nice drink...

I've honestly never tried Jim Beam. I've always gone for Scotch or JD if it's bourbon. Is Jim Beam really that bad?
