Yes, and they made changes to them for the F-22 (even the DOT&E report says they did it for that reason). They didn't just clip the fin for the heck of it. The clip reduced it to 12.5 inches to allow them to fit into the bay.

I'd have to see that report. 120C's have been out well before the raptor. There is a D model...maybe it was that version?

The AIM-120C deliveries began in 1996, the F-22 flew in 1997. I can't link a PDF from my phone but I'll be on my laptop in a few hours and will link it then. It's from FY99 and clearly states that the fins were clipped for the F-22.

Fair enough, but seeing as how 15's/16' , etc, flew 120C's I cant see how it was a 22 mod only.

They performed the mod on all the missiles, regardless of where they went, but it was done for the F-22.

From the DOT&E report:

AIM-120C was modified by clipping its wings to reduce its box size from 17.4 to 12.5 inches to
allow internal carriage in the F-22
. Block change lethality improvements are being incorporated into the
missile from Lot 8 and beyond, culminating in a new warhead and lengthened rocket motor in Lot 12.
All current U.S. deliveries are of AIM-120C configuration.

Wasn't the AIM-9X also designed to fit in the F-22's internal bays but was expected to be rolled out to the whole fleet? Simple enough reason is you dont end up with boutique versions which costs more development and production money as well as creating logistical problems.

It wasn't designed specifically for the -22, which is good because they couldn't carry it at all until the Block II, and they still can't use the HOBS capability. That means that the legacy aircraft are far more effective using it than they are.
