Is that really a good system to burden the future generations with our debt? I know we have been doing it for a while, but is it just? Is it moral?

The more and more I look around and notice the newest generation, gen z, it seems like they know exactly what is going on and it doesn't appear they want to play the game anymore.

They are rejecting this system by simply not participating. They are forcing changes that our politicians don't have the stomach to do.

We might be talking about two different things, it sounds like you are referring to Social Security, and I wasn't.
I'm talking about corporations, and other jobs that offer retirement packages. They do it to attract good employees, and doesn't involve yo money. Getting 'talent" can be competitive. You know, window office, company car, blah blah.

Social Security is on it's way out, yes. Only those born in 1950 and before are guaranteed to receive it. There is not going to be enough money to sustain it, partly because the fund has been borrowed from so much.

totally irrelevant to public sector unions
I didn't make an agreement to pay your pension, the boomers did this and they are the only ones who are going to get this benefit OFF OF MY BACK

Sure it applies. And you (the rhetorical you) benefited from the products of my public service employ that were done on behalf of your (rhetorical) government. So, happy trails and all that.

1. They pay taxes as well

2. It is not your money when it's in the tax system.

3. You benefit from the tax system as well

Meh, when you stayed upset because you couldn't find a job, you bitched and complained about everything and everybody who was working, and furious when you weren't selected, blaming everybody but yourself.
Now that you have one, you still are complaining. You must just be a disgruntled and unhappy person.

Nothing is going to satisfy you. Yeah, you're "that guy". I said in a previous post I hoped for you that you would not turn into one of "those" sad and pathetic people who begrudge any act of helping our needy.

But now I see it's too late for you. You're too enmeshed in your misery to see past it. You should be grateful you even HAVE a job.

Accept then, if you can, as long as you choose to remain a part of American society, you are going to pay taxes.
Accept it, and stop crying about it, it's unbecoming to a human being.

I think they are all ponzi schemes or pyramid schemes. If you are relying on future workers or even future generations to pay your retirement package, it is probably laced with fraud.

There is a reason why the majority of the defined benefit retirement packages were phased out of existence, because they weren't sustainable. The majority of the private companies bought out or changed their employees over to the defined contribution because they could see the writing on the wall.

It is interesting that the last holdouts are those without direct responsibility for the funding of these programs.

It doesn't really impact me that much as my state is pretty much at 98% funding and at city/county we are at 110%. But it is a very interesting subject to look at, from both sides of the isle.

the collectivist are trying to ruin our country and we are letting them do it

If you are working and getting a paycheck. I wouldn't talk like that at work if I were you.

People are afraid of Alex Jones styled paranoid people. The bosses or foremen prefer team players not malcontents. just sayin....

Actually the road is the most dangerous place for kids, as most of the ones who die every year die on the road. Schools have never been safer .once you blow past the obvious propaganda and do the real math, you will see how insignificant the threat of your child's school getting shot up is.

My kids school has armed guard, I'm cool with that that. Real great guy, a retired officer.

School shootings are probably one of the rarest way for a child to meet his end actually. A child is more likely to be poisoned, drowned, or strangled by their family member than shot in a school. I really hate it when I hear about a distressed parent who microwaves their kid or burns them alive. It happens several times a year in the USA and I die a Little myself when I hear of such tragedy.

clever but adding no real value to the discussion

Then you missed the point. You think you know what is best for everyone, you don’t. You are encouraging people to willfully violate local, state, and federal law with no concerns for the consequences, as they won’t affect you.

Likely doing it all from the comfort of your armchair, again apparently thinking only you have the answer.

A pity, really, that it needs to be explained. Do away with benefits for public servants, they stop working for the pittance they are paid. Those services go away. Stop paying taxes, no one is safe, nor is there infrastructure for folks to get water, sewage, gas, electricity, etc. No more police, fire, etc. services.

As the song lyrics state, “thanks, but no”. Please keep your vision of a collapsed America. Oh, and by the way, whether we pay taxes or we pay 10x more for privatized versions of those same services currently received from taxes via the government, we still pay. The only difference is, the government has controls. Private companies have none.

Does the abolishing of unions for public service apply to police unions as well?

I mean if we are going to get rid of unions for public service jobs then we should be fair across all fields of public service.

you don't have a right to the money that my work produces

You are in a Union ?
That is the only direct and lawful way that unions obtain money
Union dues.

Which I pay happily, to ensure that my pension remains intact.

You risk a lot protesting, even members of this site are calling for protesters to be arrested now, can't have the sheeple having opinions now and exercising free speech, oh no thanks to the orange menace and his weak minded followers we are going down the road of tyranny.

Whats funny is these people are so short sighted they don't realize this behavior will lead to laws being made to disarm them....

It's too bad people can't comprehend what you're outlining. I've had the very same idea for awhile but for different reasons.

I've come to find it would only work one way and that's with a noted action with a large amount of people taking part.

I think it's actually kind of happening already

first off conservatives have a threshold before they begin acting, you really have to push them such as with the NFL issue. they didn't even have to formerly organize but due to the fact that most people with money tend to be more conservative they were able to get the change they wanted

the same thing is happening with the Christian community, many people are tired of the crappy dangerous school system and are opting out for home / group schooling options.

people already pay as little taxes as they have to and as things increase in value due to taxes it's pushing many formally legit businesses underground at least partially

I'm seeing it more now and it's going to be a growing movement

I do believe that accounted for about 20% of the population. An equal number supported the revolution and the rest didn't care either way. Just sayin'...

In some facets, I would agree. Homeschooling and charter schools are growing and yes, I'm sure almost every American can be found liable for some sort of tax fraud. Amazon is good for that.

For those who don't know, all you need to do is fill out EXEMPT or claim a large amount of dependents on your W-4's
