One of those WtF moments... Electromagnetic suspension eh...

Pretty cool if you like to rip over speed bumps... but a car that can "bunny hop"?

Im not sure how useful it would be... though that suspension would be like riding a cloud

For some reason i want my car to bunny hop too

Super cool. I always thought this type of suspension was long overdue, and never looked into why it hasn't been implemented -- cost-prohibitive, duh!

That said, file this under the "Goddamn, I want that!!" section.

Brilliant idea.

Bose has taken it as far as they can engineer, now it's in the hands of ClearMotion.

Bose Sells Off Its Revolutionary Electromagnetic Suspension

I reckon that this is one of those ideas that will make it. On face value it just makes sense.

The spillage of coffee while drive would be a thing of the past.

too heavy and too expensive.
if you want that kind of ride quality, citroen have been doing hydropneumatic suspension for decades.

Combine it with Low Rider hydraulics and you'd be driving around like mutha luvin' Speed Buggy!!

They use this technology in transport trucks for the actual seat the trucker sits on. Been around for a while now.

Thing is, this for a suspension is extremely heavy, and very unreliable and expensive to manufacture. In the long run it's just not cost effective at all.

Although Cadillac has adopted this technology in their everyday suspension and made it more economical and veered it towards more of a performance stand point.

If the car bounces and rattles it makes you lose weight. That is because you walk more instead of taking the car. You burn calories digging a car out of the snowbank too.

And here I thought you were going to talk about speakers.

That is a very intriguing thought on the manner. I applaud you for thinking differently about this, and for giving me a good chuckle

That bunny hop thing would be great for jumping over spike strips when you're running from the cops.

Yep that's why computers never caught on. Just to big and expensive. If only they could find a way to make the tech more compact and cost effective.

A fully Active suspension that is durable, light-weight, and affordable has been a Holy Grail of car-makers for a while now.

You have to admit, it's pretty amazing...
