Probably. But those are also less deadly.

There have been 57 school shootings in the US this year. If you exclude a bunch of them as the gun rights folks would like to do, that number falls down to 8, and casualties themselves were in 5 events with 31 total killed (26 being students). If they had knives rather than guns, how many would have died? I suspect it would be less than 6 people per event on average.

At the same time though, we're talking about fewer than 100 students per year out of a population of about 90 million students. The numbers are not all that high to begin with.

Most of them wouldn't either. Because guns would be too expensive to use in petty crime. We have actual examples of this working right now in the US. Thanks to the bans on fully automatic weapons, they are only very rarely used in crimes. No one can afford to buy them to commit a petty robbery or burglary. Automatic weapons and their lack of being a problem in US society is proof that gun control can work.

Who ever would even compile that kind of data needs to be shot!!

What would one expect from a society that has all but eliminated morals?

We murder the unborn by the millions how does one define the value of human life with a straight face?

Even the traditional household spends more time working at the sacrifice of time spent with our kids.

Our kids spent more time being exposed to endless streams of violence through video games and television then they do being exposed to activities that involve anything related to a moral compass.

No amount of gun regulation is going to fix society.

Every WEEK, 24 children under age 17 are killed by a firearm in this country. Sadly, those are "acceptable" losses to this country.

Do you live in fantasy land? Chicago has the most stringent gun laws in the US right now, as well as the most shootings of any major city in the US. Why? Because the criminals can buy cheap guns for pennies on the dollar on the black market (no pun intended).

We are a nation that goes around conquering other nations. Despite the illusion that most Americans have we are also a nation that is very very focused on war throughout the world.

We killed the most with gun throughout the world via our military why would we not expect our citizens to have the same mindset and start killing themselves.

Long story short We As Americans live in a military culture and have for many decades that is why gun violence is so prevalent in America.

The kid in Florida was living w his friends pro gun pro trump parents who were cool w his gun obsession, I wonder if the Texas kids parents had pro gun and pro trump racist Nazi leanings, the apple rarely falls far from the tree. Where are these kids parents when their kid is going to school wearing Nazi embls and trenchcoats all year round in Texas weather?

I was hoping someone would post this. Seeing as the op does not state the parameters for what is considered a school shooting here we go.

-Shooting must involve at least one person being shot (not including the shooter)
-Shooting must occur on school grounds
-We included gang violence, fights and domestic violence (but our count is NOT limited to those categories)
-We included grades K through college/university level as well as vocational schools
-We included accidental discharge of a firearm as long as the first two parameters are met

They are using the term school shooting very loosely. Pretty much anytime a weapon is fired on school grounds weather school is in session or not they consider a school shooting.

This article is nothing but click bait.
Do we have a problem in this country? yes we do.
Does something need to change? Yes it does.
Are the faults on both sides of the gun issue? Ah yeah.

Instead of streching the definition of something to try and sway the weak minded your way, you should be trying to create an open dialog with the pro gun camp. There is compromise in every situation each side will have to give thought.

And clearly Chicago's gun control isn't working. It has to be nationwide. Chicago isn't making guns on the black market more expensive, therefore what they're doing isn't working.

Again, fully automatic weapons are not used in crimes. Why? Gun control has made them too expensive.
