I live about 20 minutes from this high school and have come into contact with enough people today to have gotten the story before it became public.

Honestly, at this point, this stuff is getting old to me and i think it's not an issue of any kind of mental illness with these kids but more that the parents need to learn how to lock up their guns and pay more attention to their children.

I mean, seriously, you can't see that your kid is going through enough of a mental breakdown that they're ready to just grab your guns and shoot some people up? It's just insane to me that nobody seems to see anything coming.

Partially because parents are busy themselves and in many cases don't have the time and energy to raise their kids properly, these days kids are mostly raised by teachers, babysitters and the television.

Back when 1 parent was able to stay home and family breakups were not common kids were raised with morals.... My money is on this is a major contributor .

I am still trying to catch up on reading posts and am behind, gonna throw my 2cents in anyway. As to the question why doesnt it happen in other countries. We have essentially allowed our kids to be guinea pigs for pharmaceutical companies. Parents have followed paid off Dr.'s advise, who get kick backs for prescribing ADHD drugs (pretty much meth) and other psychotropic medication. On top of that we also have parents that let their children play violent video games to their hearts content with little to no supervision. Then add a mind set of no personal responsibility; my problems are caused by someone or something else (usually learned from their parents)- everyone should hurt like I do kind of thinking. It is the perfect storm for the makings of a school shooter.

Nope jumping off ahigh place is. Quite a few survive self inflicted gunshot wounds.

I find it interesting that we always look for excuses to why this is happening in America. With the amount of killing occurring in the schools now and the frequency we have no one to blame but ourselves as a society. The moral breakdowns and selfishness is a good start to find the truth. Not the excuses.

RIP TO THE KIDS and teachers. It’s just gonna keep getting worse..

Guaranteed he had some contact with a military recruiter. He probably took some personality tests, which is where his special 'talents' were recognized. So, with the help of a psychiatrist, he was trained and conditioned for his special mission.

As for motive, Henry told The News that the initial court appearance was focused on probable cause for criminal charges rather than what set off Pagourtzis’ rampage.

The lack of any kind of believable motive is another sure sign of a Manchurian Candidate.
