maybe its because of all the guns? just a thought.

In what reality is there ever a singular cause for anything? And when has it ever been an inanimate object?

The closest you could even link it to guns would be the cultural glorification of guns and violence as a means of solving problems; which is an issue of mentality, not tools.

That also seems like an unproven, too easy answer. Much like blaming guns for the problem.

we have angry people in germany too, but we dont have a masshooting every week.

Population of Germany = 82m. Population of US = 320m. Give or take in both instances.

That shows us we only have triple the population, not that less people equals less trigger-happy. It's like saying Alaska has less violent crime than Illinois because it's population is smaller. (FYI, Alaska with 3/4s of a million people has the highest violence crime rate, while Illinois with over 12.5 ranks somewhere around 15th or 16th place for violent crime)
Edit: In other words, our shootings issues over here aren't because of more of less people, our issues are culture-based.

One shot in a art class is not a MASS SHOOTING.....Apparently Germans exaggerate more than other folks.

If there were no guns, people would use knives, or cars, or whatever else is handy.

They have in London. To the point they are considering banning all knives except butter knifes....

France had the deadliest mass shooting in in the west in years (137 in one go in 2015), "beat" Las Vegas by a mile, and when it comes to mass killings In numbers in the past years I think that France (without doing the numbers) is probably in front of the US on that matter, over let's say the past 5 years, oh and guns sales are highly regulated in France. and when it's not guns it's trucks (86 in Nice - 2016).

In 11 years there's been 304 dead by mass shootings in the US
In the same time period there's been 260 dead in France, of those 260, 174 were mass shootings and 86 of died by truck.

Population of France 67mil.
That means that the US has a 75% higher mass shooting death toll over France but also has 4.5x more population than France, and guns aren't even easily accessible in France let alone semi-autos.

You wish it was that simple.

It's pretty much that simple. There is a lack of parents and parenting in today's America. Kids are being raised by Ipads and reality TV. Drive down most neighborhoods on a nice day and count how many kids are actually outside.....

Same in every western country.
Something is broken but I can not think what it is.
Maybe it is the reporting of it gives mentally ill kids ideas.

Also, I seem to recall some historic "unpleasantness" that occurred in or around Germany. Some deaths, I hear.

ah, yet i know, its because there are more people in the us. thanks! one last question: europe has over 500 million, but i cant find any infos about regular mass shootings. do you?

United States: one Second Amendment prohibiting the government from disarming the populace.

Entire European continent: zero constitutional protections prohibiting the government from disarming the populace.

That's the only numbers that really matter. As another member has quoted in their signature: "I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences of too much liberty than those attending to too small a degree of it." I'd much rather the government fix things like over-prescription of psychotropics than try to disarm the entire nation.

So we have:
1. Guns are the problem
2. Pharmaceuticals are the problem
3. The media is the problem

When do we get around to blaming the killers?

That would be 1a. In parentheses. A footnote.

Of course blame them but the question is why does it happen in the USA and not the rest of the world?.
I dunno just asking the question maybe if we knew we could do something about it.
Oh and I don't think it is because of guns btw.

I think the answer not simple, and not one thing.

And I don't think we'll ever truly know why some snap and rampage, and some don't. It's a puzzler.

Because it does happen in the rest of the world and not only in the US.

Maybe it's because liberals and guns don't mix after being stirred up by the MSM Fake News for a year.
