Why is it when we discuss immigration to the west the country is the land not the people. An African in Sweden is now Swedish. When it comes to Palestine: "Palestine is not a place, it's the people."

Because their land has been stolen?

Take your time and take a good look at this almost historical reports and analyses the events by the late Mr. Douglas Reed about this abomination called israHELL.

From his excellent book The Controversy of Zion

The true start of this affair occurred on a day in 458 BC which this narrative will reach in its sixth chapter. On that day the petty Palestinian tribe of Judah (earlier disowned by the Israelites) produced a racial creed, the disruptive effect of which on subsequent human affairs may have exceeded that of explosives or epidemics. This was the day on which the theory of the master-race was set up as "the Law".

This protests weren't about the American embassy, they were on the anniversary that the Palestinian land was stolen by the Israelis.
Now we have an injustice to the Palestinians akin to apartheid where legitimate resistance to occupation is met with huge force with little restraint.
This is a massacre and some of you guys are supporting it?

It becomes terrorism when you use armed forces to force people from there land.

Yeah. The last time the IDF expulsed anyone was in 1967 when they destroyed a couple of villages in the strategically vital Latrun area. Certainly not nice but probably military justifiable at the time.

Why do you defend Apartheid. It is a form of state produced racism. Is that something you think is a good thing.

There is no apartheid in Israel, Jews and Arabs are equal. Israeli occupied territory is under military rule. Palestinians living there are not Israeli citiziens and thus have less rights than Israelis. There is actual remarkable Little racism in the Israeli society at large given its history.

Exactly. Even the Israeli Arab population many of them love living in Israel. They know what has happened in the peripheral states and the quagmire the locals live in there, I met plenty of Arabs and Druze who love Israel, indeed they know full well that under the rule of Israel they've never had it so good

You are very wrong :-)

"Apartheid" isn't just a term of insult; it's a word with a very specific legal meaning, as defined by the International Convention on the Suppression and Punishment of the Crime of Apartheid, adopted by the U.N. General Assembly in 1973 and ratified by most United Nations member states (Israel and the United States are exceptions, to their shame).

According to Article II of that convention, the term applies to acts "committed for the purpose of establishing and maintaining domination by one racial group of persons over any other racial group of persons and systematically oppressing them." Denying those others the right to life and liberty, subjecting them to arbitrary arrest, expropriating their property, depriving them of the right to leave and return to their country or the right to freedom of movement and of residence, creating separate reserves and ghettos for the members of different racial groups, preventing mixed marriages — these are all examples of the crime of apartheid specifically mentioned in the convention.

Or try having a read of this.

A recent U.N. report has found Israel guilty of apartheid, causing a diplomatic skirmish between Israel’s supporters and opponents. The report, published by the U.N.’s Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), compares Israel’s rule over Palestinians in Israel and the West Bank to South Africa’s treatment of non-whites during its apartheid phase.

I have no doubt that had everything to do with why the Trump Administration chose this date.

On a separate note, why were Ivanka Trump, Peace Talk Barbie, there to represent "the 45th President of the United States", and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin at the opening of the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem? And, why wasn't Secretary of State, Mike "We're waiting for the Rapture" Pompeo there?

And, Didn't Jared Kushner lose his security clearance?

So many lives lost for a photo op!

Sorry im not, no apartheid in Israel. You fail to realize that the West Bank not part of Israel but still occupied territory under military rule. The people living there are not part of the Israeli society as long as they dont hold Israeli citizenship.
Complaining about the fact that Palestinians living in the West Bank have less rights than Israeli Jews would be kinda like complaining that Iraqis didnt enjoy the same rights as US Citiziens when the US occupied them between 2003 and 2011.

The Apartheid crowd would have a point if Israeli people of jewish and arab descent would be treated differently by the Israeli state. This is not the case.
Doesnt mean the Israeli occupation is particularly nice to live under, but its actually not worse by and large than living conditions in neighboring countries are for the Palestinians.

By your own definition, there is no apartheid in Israel.

"committed for the purpose of establishing and maintaining domination by one racial group of persons over any other racial group of persons and systematically oppressing them."

Arab Muslims in Israel have the same exact rights as Jews. They work in all layers of the economy and have their own representation in the parliament (which took part of the government many times in the past). In addition, Israel has a big population of Ethiopians, Christian Arabs, Druze and Bedouins. All have the same legal rights.
Gaza's population, on the other hand, is 99.8% Sunni Muslims, who live under Sharia law. Not a good idea to be a minority over there.

The fact that Israel has a political conflict with another group (which happen to be Arab) doesn't mean that this conflict is based on Race. Israel is the most ethnically and religiously diverse country in the middle east.

If you really believe that Israel is not a apartheid state, then you are living on another planet.

There is overwhelming evidence that the system instituted by the Israeli government against the Palestinian people meets the UN definition of Apartheid. In effect, Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory constitute one territorial unit under full Israeli control. As of 2016, of the total population of people that live in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory, around 6.45 million are Jewish Israelis and about 6.41 million are Palestinians.

Under Israeli law, and in practice, Jewish Israelis and Palestinians are treated differently in almost every aspect of life including freedom of movement, family, housing, education, employment and other basic human rights. Dozens of Israeli laws and policies institutionalise this prevailing system of racial discrimination and domination. Segregation is carried out by implementing separate legal regimes for Jewish Israelis and Palestinians living in the same area. For example, Jewish Israeli settlers living in the illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank are governed by Israeli civil law, while Palestinians also living in the occupied West Bank are governed by Israeli military law. Israel carries out various acts that are prohibited by the UN Apartheid Convention including: ●

Forcible transfer of Palestinians to make way for illegal Israeli settlements. ● Preventing Palestinians from returning to their homes and lands. ● Systematic and severe deprivation of fundamental human rights of Palestinians based on their identity. ● Denying Palestinians their right to freedom of movement and residence. ● Murder, torture, unlawful imprisonment and other severe deprivation of physical liberty, especially of Palestinians living in Gaza. ● Persecution of Palestinians because of their opposition to Apartheid

Next time try searching Wikipedia instead of posting BS websites.

Dozens of Israeli laws and policies institutionalise this prevailing system of racial discrimination and domination.

The population of Israel is about 8.5 million people. 75% are Jews and the remaining are Muslims, Christians and others. All have the same exact rights under the law. All have complete freedom of movement, religion and parliamentary representation.
In the West Bank the are 2,785,366 Palestinians and 371,000 Israeli settlers. The settlers have the Israeli law and the Palestinians have the Palestinian law. With the exception of security matters.

This is simply BS. If we are talking about West Bank, the Palestinians have their own government, police, prisons and judicial system. The Israeli military law is implemented only in security matters, which means that if a terrorist butchers a whole family in their home, he will be judged in Israel and not by Palestinian judges(because the Palestinians will probably name a street after him instead of punishing him).

I know, really? Just thinking you could walk back into "land" that wasn't historically yours in the first place and "protest" yourself into a "state". Seems kind of naive to me. I mea, if you're willing to die for "your land" at least give the original people an honorable battle. Or just be happy buying a "fishing license" from them and saving the trouble of being a "burden of many nations". Or just be a bunch of "protesters" afraid to buck your handlers and get shot in the back of the head. Israel dropped leaflets asking for a "civil" outcome. Not sure what else Israel could do. Israel can't give the land back (that they won fare and square in war) to a people hell bent on their destruction... That defies even the most liberals "commonsense gun laws". ... That's not even an educated or a logical salution. Best advise to the nomadic people is stop attacking Israel's borders. There are lots of you, a dime a dozen. Or just be happy and by the fishing license and live in relative peace. Your government, their government doesn't matter, you'll still have to buy a license. But this ain't about a fishing license. This is about Isaac and Ishmael.... Son of Ishmael, you're wrong! But be humble about it. Even the great temple had a court for us gentiles. But you won't. Again, you're a dime a dozen. You can't buck the God of your father Abraham. But you will try...

Both Isaac and Ishmael have been condemned..for following ridiculous slave books.

Neither group has or will EVER experience what they desire...which is easy too see.........

It’s funny to see all these people bash Palestine. If you don’t live there you can’t know what it’s like. These are the same people that say “I wish the government would try to take our guns”. So you’ll rebel against YOUR OWN GOVERNMENT because they are trying to take a firearm but you can’t understand wanting to rebel against a country (that is only our friend because we pay them over 38 billion dollars a year) that has taken their land and constantly kills innocent citizens. The terrorists can go to hell. Both sides have them. But the majority of people that are killed are innocent. If cops shot people for throwing rocks we’d have a whole other situation on our hands here at home

You are Greatly Misguided . Stop Listening to the Left's Propaganda like NPR.....The Truth Will Set You Free.......

" JERUSALEM – Hamas, desperate over its increasingly precarious situation in Gaza and eager to please Iranian paymasters, has escalated the premeditated, openly violent campaign aimed at breaching the Israel-Gaza border and attacking nearby Israeli communities."

Hamas has been selling the nearly two-month-long mass riots as “return rallies,” marketing the fiction that Palestinians have a so-called “right of return” to the State of Israel while also demanding a state immediately.

It is outrageous to claim that the Palestinians would need to resort to such actions in order to create a state. The Palestinians have infamously turned down every Israeli statehood offer, each those that came with a shared capital in Jerusalem. Those offers were made at Camp David in 2000, Taba in 2001, the Annapolis Conference in 2007, and more offers were made in 2008 and reportedly in 2014. In each of these cases, the PA refused generous Israeli offers of statehood and bolted negotiations without counteroffers. Only today, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu yet again called on the Palestinians to return to the negotiating table.

The only thing standing in the way of the Palestinians having a state — even one with a foothold in Jerusalem — is the Palestinians’ own abject refusal to accept numerous statehood offers while rejecting Israel’s very existence.

A closer look at today’s casualties betrays the violent nature of the allegedly peaceful protests. Three Gazans were shot while trying to plant explosive devices at the border fence, while others were killed attempting to open fire on Israeli soldiers, the IDF said. Israel already identified at least 10 of the fatalities as Hamas members.

Hamas has a long and sordid history of using civilians, including children, as human shields, and that is just what it is doing today. It is indisputable that Israel’s borders are being attacked and that we are witnessing an orchestrated, terrorist-sponsored, violent campaign in which civilians and Hamas jihadists alike are trying to overrun the borders of a nation-state. Israel says Hamas jihadists have been instructed to wait behind civilian protesters and approach the border once a breach has been identified.

Then there are prominent internal Hamas considerations. The Islamist terrorist group understands the Gaza population is frustrated that 11 years of Hamas rule has resulted in destructive wars – launched each time by Hamas itself – and an economy dangerously teetering on the brink of collapse. Hamas’s decision to turn Gaza into a terrorist enclave has prompted an Israel-Egypt boycott that has impacted all aspects of Gaza life, although Israel allows for truckloads of humanitarian goods and supplies per day to enter Gaza.

A Protest is no longer a Protest once you Violently try to INVADE another Country but penetrating their border security and do Harm to her Citizens (all of which was the Explicit stated goal of Hamas). At that point you have just made yourself an Enemy Combatant and rightly Deserve the full Wrath of that country's Military.

While there are definitely some jihadi types there, the whole nation of Palestine is not jihadis. Many are normal people who just want a family and to provide for them.... Like every country on earth.

Citizens rarely represent what their government projects.

Well, aren't the "Normal Palestinians" already living within Israel and just living their lives?
