I think the United States should separate into 3 or 4 countries.

We're that divided.

Just tossing my 2 cents into the mix.

As far as California goes? If that's what people want and vote for, then they should be free to do so.

Or higher levels of autonomy as territories, if people are skittish on that. If people are going to sit here and bitch about federal oversight of the states being a hindrance, then it's time to entertain not being so attached at the hip and having a lot more self-directed control beyond that granted to a state.

Just one project in calif shows how the state wastes money big time.

California high speed rail system will cost $100 billion and does not serve any of the state that wants to split off from the democrat controlled parts of calif.
en.wikipedia.org...

Rural Calif is very under served for transit. And for many towns there is no public transit.

California Supreme Court has ruled the split question cannot go on the ballot. Apparently it violates State law since something of that magnitude has to go thru the California government first and if approved then goes to the people to vote.

Even then I doubt the US Congress would approve the split.

I live in Northern California.

The politics where I live often do not jive with how the votes turn out. Southern California has a much larger population and often determines the outcome of political votes.

Often times after an election I am shocked by how the vote went. If you had just looked at signage here in the north, you would have assumed that an issue is going one way and then it goes the other

I for one would like to see the state split just so my vote will count

Forget the split and just put a big dome over the liberal cities.
The only thing they produce is hate and poverty.
