That's the downside to democracy. The choice of the many affects the lives of the few as well.

It's also why we live in a Republic rather than a Democracy. Without the Constitutional protections we are afforded in the Bill of Rights, the rights our forefathers saw as inalienable would have long ago been alienated from us in the name of democracy. As a group, humans are just plain old stoopid.

California is nae more of an impediment to progress as a nation. Rather than wait for them to succeed we should just vote them off the island... Relocate silicon valley to Texas and call it good.
