Has this news story been confirmed by any other media outlets?
No and it's been a week. The original source is so unreliable it even managed to quote the original uncorroborated twitter source inaccurately,
committing it was an advisor to minister making the claim in the unconfirmed tweet.

Common sense says there were kickbacks, rebates, and illegal $$$ laundering.
No it doesn't. In the US bribes and kickbacks stop at or above county level politics You have incredibly high anti-corruption standards, in part due
to the fact theyll make several times more than they ever will in bribes by acting as a public speaker, consultant, advisor, networker for big
business once they quit politics.
You think politicians are going to do that under the glare of world authorities, political reporters following their every move and sniper scopes of
Mossad?
They're corrupt but not that stupid. The UK hasn't crossed US-Israeli sanctions since we were caught arming Saddam in the 80s/90s when the government
trained companies to circumvent US bans on arms. They tried to cover it up by shredding the documents and witholding key evidence in court where they
acted as prosecution against the company bosses they had tutored, allowing them to escape any mention of the fact they were responsible for the whole
thing.
Despite them all being jailed investigative journos shortly uncovered the crime, the convictions were overturned and the government collapsed soon
afterwards. The business owners had to go into hidding and most have been found 'suicided'. My uncle was one and unique insight into how these things
happen eventually helped me gain employment investigative reporting them.
Cameron was PM at the time. The closest he ever came to corrupt ME practices and bribes was into the contracting out of Eurofighter £7bn contract to
India. He denied any such a deal existed or was up for grabs. I'd known for week at the time that BAe Salmesbury were offering 4000 staff voluntary
redundancy to move the project there (but was illegal to report due to official secrets and didn't wan't to risk sources) now it was and it only took
about 10 minutes of sleuthing to find the original tender for the deal on the next Indian Arms deal, sent it to the Grauniad and local papers for
publishing and as a result France got the deal for £13bn. He wasn't happy but didn't # about after that.
He had no need for extra money given his billoinaire family and his Panamanian bank details were wikileaked along with other European leaders who are
under similar scrutiny after having secretly supplied equipment to build nukes to hostile nations.
