Most Senate Democrats voted against Grenell, citing issues including his history of making statements insulting to women politicians on the Internet and during cable television appearances.
“Will he insult, via his Twitter account, the female chancellor of Germany? I don’t know. I hope not,” Senator Robert Menendez, the top Democrat on the Foreign Relations Committee, said in a Senate speech opposing Grenell.
When asked about such comments during his confirmation hearing, Grenell said he was trying to be funny, not insulting, and would not have made such statements while serving as a U.S. official. Republican supporters of Grenell dismissed such concerns as political partisanship by Democrats. Grenell’s confirmation made him the highest-ranking openly gay official in the Trump administration.
Grenell is one of over one hundred Trump nominees who have been approved in committee and are waiting for a floor vote to finalize their confirmation. Chris Bedford at The Daily Caller wrote earlier this week that Senate Republicans should force each nomination for a floor debate thus trapping Democrats in DC for tedious senate procedures rather than having the luxury of campaigning in their home states in the months before the critical mid-term elections this November: On
Friday, while 26 Senate Democrats up for re-election went home to their states or elsewhere to speak and raise money with which to batter Republicans in November, 139 of the White House’s nominees languished in positions from undersecretary for arms control and international security affairs to director of the National Counterintelligence and Security Center. According to the Senate rules Democrats and their Republican enablers love to cite, they have to wait 30 hours after ending debate.
This has turned into three or so nominees confirmed a week, averaging 79 days a nominee, with McConnell himself griping that at this rate, it will take 11 years to confirm Trump’s nominees.

Trump also hired the first woman to oversee construction of a skyscraper. At least she was the first in New York if not the U.S. or maybe even internationally.
That was pretty big in those days and the project was obviously important to him being that it was Trump Tower.

I highly doubt this guy was picked by the Trump administration, because they thought he was the best candidate to represent the US.
More like the Trump administration is getting incredibly desperate, when it comes to filling US ambassador positions and at this stage will basically take whoever they can get...
Vacant US ambassador positions have been an ongoing issue for Trump ever since he was elected president.
More than half the world’s population still doesn’t have a US ambassador
Since he fired all the US ambassadors who were political appointees of Barack Obama, US president Donald Trump has had only two replacements confirmed by the Senate: Nikki Haley, to the United Nations, and David Friedman, to Israel. That means the US has no top representative to 57 countries and territories with a total population of 3.9 billion.

So who is outraged....
I am. Not one transgender-fluid handicapable vegan person of color to be seen anywhere.
Impeach Trump!
In the late 70s, he hired her on the spot when she was working at the Grand Hyatt hotel for a major renovation. She was on site managing a project and cursing out a bunch of men who refused to work for her and were not getting their work done.
(Keep in mind just a few years earlier women were barred from construction sites). Trump could see the fight in her. He gave her an incredible opportunity. He appointed her manager of construction on Trump Tower, and from there she went on to become the executive vice president of the Trump Organization. It was a huge jump for her professionally, and it enabled our family to jump classes. In that way, it is a rags-to-riches American story

Sounds like a good deal but then later in the article she gets personal and she was not even around then. A pissed off gay woman with a chip on her shoulder...poor thing.
