Is this news because it depicts Trump?

Don't worry people the art police made them cover it up. In other news, In Texas we will be having its annual Mohmed cartoon festival this week. Bring the kids guns and bulletproof vests so we can all defend free speech from terrorists.

Good that the school distanced themselves from this. Yes it's art. Yes this is not the venue for such art.

It's actually rather poor art. It looks like it was done by a high school student or tattoo artist. Painting over the whole thing may save a few retinas.

The irony being, if it was a Latino person's head (or God forbid *ahem* Hillary's) on that pike..the outrage would be headline news and heads would roll, no pun intended.

But because it's Trump LULZ

Oh wait that's not irony, just double standards at work again.

Star for you!

I look at it as healing through the arts. Lol

PS I like your suggestion for a mural myself. In the right room.

The town of Chula Vista I'm sure has no problem with this mural... Any of you ever been there? It's like an illegal immigrant haven.

I'm no Trump supporter and I find him despicable but I find this very distasteful. It's really like uttering death threats.

Im not either but this is disgusting.....

I find it highly hypocritical, that when Obama was president, if you didnt like him , it was because he was black and youre a racist.

With Trump there has been MASSIVELY more hate and depictions of violence against him, yet when black or mexican people do it its not racist?

This country is so far divided im not sure we can ever get back on track.......

Then again, maybe this is the direction it needs to go, they say things get worse before they get better........maybe this is a weeding out process

There's no getting this back together and we can fairly well predict what will happen when the fecal matter hits the fan with the US inability to service the National Debt. That will cause an economic collapse that make the Great Depression look tame. It will do to US cities what Katrina did to NOLA. A months long "Shoot n' Loot".

The school is open to students aged 14-24.

Ummm...all artwork aside...are there really 24 year old high school students...?

I mean...

D'oh...WoodCarver beat me by a nose...But that's only cause he has such a protuberant proboscis...

Yes. There are many adults needing a GED. And I'm not talking immigrants or Hispanics or even Blacks - every ethnic group in the US has members that lack a high school education. My daughter-in-law's stepmother only completed 8th grade and her father got a GED some 10 years ago. Lots of folks quit school to go earn money and then later find themselves stuck with no chance for advancement.

The artist is a dick, but even dicks have a right to free expression.

The vidja games that kids play today are far more graphic. This is censorship, not matter the reason.

Free expression / speech is all good, but it has consequences. In this case the the consequence was that disgusting image was removed. There has to be some bar to get over before imagery is on public display. I take it you wouldn't want porn painted all over the streets and city walls, or Nazi symbols and imagery, or depictions of slavery and KKK lynchings... etc...?

Please tell me this comes in a wall paper ! ! !

Your wanting to paste this image all over the walls of your house is extremely disturbing.

But not surprising...

I wouldn't like it.

I would get offended by it.

But my "being offended" should never dictate what others might express.

In public, yeah that's fine but when you're invited to something private, they can put limits on you. You get a job and they don't allow swearing while on the clock. Is that an infringement on your free speech if you choose to continue to work there and not swear? No one forced the artist to work on a mural at a school with children. What if this artist was painting the isis flag or swastikas? Still not acceptable in this arrangement.

Now if they wanted to use this platform to further their message, that's a different story. If people like the artist and see other works from them (lets say more controversial), then it's the viewer seeking out their message and no stifling of free speech.

Doesn't matter if it is or isn't. Everyone there can be 100% in support but it's still up to the school if something is allowed or not.

I know a lot of alternative schools go up to 24 in our area while most highschools cap at 18.
