Monoplizing nature... You can't legally patent anything which is occurs naturally, this keeps turds from charging you for the air you breath or the weeds and trees growing in your back yard, etc. Well, you can't patent anything which occurs in nature, that is unless you are a big corporation.
Syngenta literally patented the flowering process of rice, and if they hadn't let the patent expire, would have been able to immediately monopolize the worlds rice production. Thank god for public pressure. Looks Like Monsanto and Syngenta, are trying to take the natural out of the world's food production. Jesus this is creepy. When is enough money enough for these bastards? They need to own the rights to flowering rice plants now? Guys we have to stop this kind of garbage before the world's food production is consolidated and owned by a few large companies. There are some things which we depend on as a species that just need to be left the hell alone here, food is one of them. Capitalism at it's finest, too bad it could literally kill us. Owning a natural flowering process of a plant that feeds a vast number of human beings is ridiculous. Dig around creepy stuff...

Never? It's a business; that's its purpose.

Why do you think the corporate farm exisits. As soon as humanity begins to run out of resources, the only true way to accumulate wealth is through the ownership of land. Governments & corporations realize this and the fact that farmland has the potential to produce future fuel supplies like ethanol. This is why the family farm is being killed off and corporate farms are taking over.
