Loose-lipped Giuliani's bark may come back to bite Trump --- besides revealing that the president had reimbursed Mr. Cohen, Mr. Giuliani "appeared to admit that the payment to Ms. Clifford just before Election Day in 2016 was made because of concerns about the coming vote. That could be used to argue that it was an illegal campaign contribution."

quote: New York Times NATIONAL Friday, May 4, 2018

"Imagine if that came out on October 15, 2016, in the middle of the, you know, last debate with Hillary Clinton," Mr. Giuliani said on the Fox News program 'Fox & Friends.' "Cohen didn't even ask. Cohen made it go away. He did his job."

Violating campaign finance laws can be serious.

Blackmailing bitch.

Cheating husband.

Yeah, it's crazy that a porn star might have a tape. Who would have thought of that when they were cheating?!

At least she was more upfront about it than not washing her stained navy blue dress for a year.

But let's not focus on the ladies, this is more about the presidents and their character. They both cheated, they both lied to everyone about it. Congress tried to impeach one because of it... congress looks the other way this time. Can we expect anything other than double standards from politicians?

When the Democrats take the house and senate, impeachment is likely. Really, the GOP would rather have President Pence. That would help rebuild the party.

With President Pence, it won't be four lies a day.

So why does the story keep changing? The truth doesn't change lol.

No, the truth doesn't change, but the dreams and wishes of the MSM certainly do.

Here's what I understand the story to be:

12 years ago, Trump got too cozy with Daniels and Daniels got too cozy with Trump. They did the old dance between the sheets, just like thousands of other Americans do every single night. Shortly before the election, Daniels decided she could extort money from Trump if she threatened to come public. She approached Trump's lawyer and he did what Trump wanted him to do: he paid the money and got an NDA signed. He never asked Trump, he never consulted with Trump, he just did what had become a standing order between them: if it's below $XXX, pay it; It's not worth arguing about. He then billed Trump for legal fees to cover the payout, as had been agreed.

Now Daniels wants more money and has decided to make the sheet dance public, against the terms of the contract she willingly signed. So she has the media all up in an uproar over what Trump might have done, what Trump thought, what laws Trump may have broken, what the idiot lawyer tagging along behind Daniels is going to do next, and how this can be used as an excuse for impeachment. There's all the different stories. What Trump did is consistent with what he has said: he didn't know anything about the payment to Daniels; Cohen took care of that on his own with blanket blessing by Trump. He did certainly know about payments he made to Cohen. Guilliani's legal opinion is reasonable and completely within the law. There was no law broken by Trump, but Daniels is in breach of contract and will likely be sued for every dime she ever will have when this is over (and since she openly violated an NDA, which is the whole legal basis of what i do, I hope she is).

Everything else is a wet dream by Democrats hoping, praying, for anything they can find to be enough to impeach Trump before his DoJ catches up to them. You see multiple stories? Look to the authors... the MSM.

would be serious if it was the first time cohen had done this kind of work for trump, but it was not;
in the course of regular work this is not a "contribution" I posted the cfr regulation definition earlier in this thread, you should read it

Here is the thing that no one on the left wants to comprehend. People like President Trump have the money to give to his attorney, who has also been his friend for a long time, and take care of anything that needs to be paid. That doesn't mean President Trump lied, he could really have not known that Cohen paid Stormy Daniels, more so since Trump is the President of the United States and has been working on MAGA.

I would say it's POORER people on the left/right that don't understand retainer bank accounts. A billionaire would have retainer accounts for his/her attorneys and accountants to draw from, as needed.

Ghoul)lianni is playing the same role Scarrymoochie played for Trump. The wild man gone crazy.

Jus like Scarrymoochie he won’t last more than a few weeks. He’s out of it and no help to Trump. Even Trump will see that and get rid of him.

You bring up a good point. How is this type of thing not blackmail?

How come this woman is not charged? Blackmailing someone is illegal in this country, the Rich and elite made it that way. Poor people do not have enough money to be blackmailed, the law was meant to protect the rich.

I have wondered the same thing. The only reason that makes sense to me is that Trump is busy with the legal maneuvers surrounding him at the moment. Perhaps once that dies down, she will be charged with blackmail, or at least attempted blackmail.

The anti-Trump crowd must seriously be getting desperate if they will so easily sacrifice one of their supporters.

I suspect the key portion will come down to whether she approached cohen or cohen approached her. If she went to cohen and said "They're giving me 100k for my story" while expecting him to offer more for her silence, it could very well be considered blackmail (extortion). If cohen caught wind of it and went to offer her money for silence, it gets dicey. Did she leverage for more? Has she held it over him since the payment? She did break the agreement, so I'd say she has, but I could see this option going against cohen's claim of blackmail.

Absolutely agreed. And I think this may well be because of a little greed on Trump's part. What are the financial penalties for breaking the NDA? I hear they're pretty high. I have heard her statement that Trump had threatened her by reminding her of those penalties... lol, that's like a bank saying to make your payment or we'll repossess... in what universe is that a threat?

Civil NDA violation is a pretty open-and-shut case, and the financial penalties could well leave her penniless and destitute for life... that's a pretty severe punishment and could be handled without tying up the DoJ from more important cases. It's a big swamp.

Because at this level of wealth/power Trump considered her a prostitute and had Cohen pay her to keep her mouth shut about the affair.

That was the whole legal battle at the beginning, whether or not Stormy could even talk about sleeping with Trump. Then it came out that Trump never signed the legal paperwork that would prevent her from speaking, she was just paid $130k with the expectation that she wouldn't say anything. You'd think that someone on a $130k retainer would do a better job of protecting their client.

Oh and yes, adultery is illegal in the state of New York.

Considered? If she is asking for 130k to not talk about NOT sleeping together I would call that extortion not blackmail. She has admitted she did not sleep with him. This is all sick fantasy and lies. I am sure Bill Clinton got this private dance though...LOL

Or is that what she was offered? Doesn't seem like much on the Trump scale. Cheapskate. Right?

She has admitted she did not sleep with him.
Right. But she did have sex with him. Right?
