Yes. 2.7 million would be "consumed" by the plant. Presumably the rest would be returned to the lake or used by the community.

I'm not sure how that would violate the Great Lakes Compact.

So just how clean will the water be when it's returned to Lake Michigan?

On the one hand everyone cries for manufacturing jobs to be returned to their country; how else will industry work without a water supply?

I don't think that is the point to me anyway.
Since when did Wisconsin take ownership of the Great Lakes?

That's like saying Louisiana owns the Mississippi River!

Are you going to bitch about the desal plants around the world, too? "Such and such country doesn't own Blankity Blank Ocean, how dare they take water from it!"

There's 6 quadrillion gallons in the Great Lakes as a whole, I don't get how using less than 3 million is a problem. It's not much of a big deal if we want to actually be a country that does anything for ourselves again. Compared to China, we make diddly s#. Would people prefer we keep making diddly s# while China solidifies being a manufacturing powerhouse with the rest of the world around it's finger?

What will make or break manufacturing in this country is regulations & standards. Hold the Trump admin's feet to the fire. If they flounder, burn them. If they need to make improvements, hold their feet uncomfortably close. Get sadistic here and put your efforts where your digital mouths are.

Seriously? I'm surprised you're not bitching about this. Are you for foreign land rape or against it?

At all.

Wisconsin doesn't ave the right to decide on the usage, IMHO.
What about Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New York, Ohio and Canada?
