Rich people pay me my salary.

Rich people pay most everyone's salary.

I could give a tinkers damn about rich people personally, I just want more money for what I do!

So those rich people should pay you more then, right?

Yes. I'd like that.

It shouldn't be governments job to try and tax you less because the wealthy aren't giving you more.

WTF?

You have eaten the Tide-Pod of Insanity.

I am middle class.

My paycheck went up slightly as tax with holdings were reduced.

My projected tax return next year is over a thousand dollars higher.

How is that not helping??

Anyone who is honest and knows anything about the state of business in our country knows that Trump's tax cut was a giant scam. Now even a Republican is admitting that it isn't helping the middle class. I know I haven't seen a penny from it, and I am a contractor at a fortune 100 company.

www.dailykos.com...

Anyone who is honest... Ok... How can anyone state so clearly that the tax cut is having no effect when the numbers that would indicate the efficacy of the tax cut haven't been gathered yet? We are still looking at 2016 numbers right now.

or maybe this... Anyone who is honest knows that DailyKos.com is a self-described liberal media activist hub that posts diaries by people like Barack Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Elizabeth Warren, to name but a few. I guess its no wonder anything and everything they print has a decided liberal slant to it.

If you keep reading this garbage your brain is going to turn into sludge and start seeping out your ears. Of course people will mistake it for the usual drool so you have that going for you....which is nice...

No offense but you sound a little entitled. So you make 20 k a year. Is that your choice?

First off if I am paying taxes at all I deserve the government to work for me. No taxation without representation.

2ed, what really bothers me is not the taxes I pay but what our government spends that tax money own.
As a tax paying the blood of the innocents killed while dropping bombs on other countries is on my hands, and yours, but nether of deserve such a burden on our souls.

3rd, even though my mother has dwarfism she still worked 40 to 60 hours a day , literally almost dieing twice from it, till she was physically unable to do so. And she did it all while paying her taxes and never complaining. If anyone deserves a tax brake it's her. But because she also only makes around 17k a year she gets no cut. She saw no change in her weekly pay checks. In fact she had to pay out 300 more dollars this year than she had to in the last 10 years.

My mother has done so much for this country during her life I would like to see it give back to her before she dies.
And now they raised retirement age on her and who knows if ss will even be a thing by that time.

Me and my mother feel we are not represented by our government so why should we be forced by them to pay taxes at all.

I am not lib or dem or republican but I have voted for all 3 during my life. What I have learned is that NONE of our elected officials give a damn about us unless we are rich.

No taxation without representation used to matter to americans. Why do we let a few extra dollars in our paychecks cause us to become such sheep? Those of us that work deserve more than this from our government and I thought the tax cut was the beginning of a real change....how naive I was.

I'm not the one saying government should increase my pay rather than pressure my employer to do it instead.

You are.

You may want to check your W2.

I'm getting to keep more of my income on my checks every 2 weeks that used to get sucked up into taxes. I'm seeing a difference! I'm middle class (65-70K)

B.S.

I am middle class. I have my own Subchapter S business. I just spent several hours with my CPA in tax planning. The Trump Tax Cut is saving me a ton on my taxes.

...and I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching from Obama to Trump.

Dunno how people are missing the extra in their paychecks. How in the hell are they getting different from the rest of us? Are they in another country or something? No job or something? I don't get it.

You and I are the trickle down effect right there. We're taking what extra we're making and chancing bigger purchases.

Hell... Its nice to be able to afford a little more.

I sympathize with your situation and I wish you and your mother well.

As far as taxes go, for eight years during the obama disaster I did not feel as though I was represented at all. Not one bit. But I still had to pay taxes. With a two party system, or thereabouts, there will always be one side that feels they are not suitably represented in government since they are not the majority and their policy preferences are not being enacted. We have nearly half the country shouting Not my President right now. They may not like him, but nothing will change the fact that yes, he is their President. Unless they renounce citizenship, which would be fine with me. Then they could go live in a real socialist country and find out first hand what they have been wishing for. But that won't happen. whoopie and joy and rosy and the rest of that schlock of garbage are still here. And more come every day. They hate us, hate what we stand for, hate everything about us, and cant wait to be part of it...

You do know there is this thing called SPEND LESS... right... What is good for you? 25% 35% 80%, what do you think we should pay in taxes...

Also, 20 trillion...really... lets start with my paycheck on that one... I pay a lot in taxes either way, but even if I paid 1 dollar I would beat out a lot of Americans, so I'm good...

ty

I have actually never felt like the government represented me.

Never.

But the dems do seem to represent my mother from time to time so I vote for them. Not always, but most of the time.

After she dies I doubt I will be involved in this fools game we call politics anymore.

When you see me on these threads I am usually speaking not for what I want but for what my mother needs.

I think it's too early to tell about the tax cuts. My accountant isn't really sure how it will effect me or my wife or my business.

I do know that trickle down economics doesn't work though.

Thank you for the response and you mother sounds like an incredible woman. Paying taxes is simply a way of life now. It sucks. Basically it is like each hour you work he government takes 1/5 of you money. If you live in a state with state tax you then have even less. Then, in order to get back your money you have to pay someone else for the government to decide how much you get back.

What Trump is doing is a first step to reform. Will it happen overnight, no, but at the same time those who are low wage earners will not see as much as someone making 3 or 4 times as much. This is just based on wages not need or who deserves it. If she is making 17k a year, which is just over minimum wage I hope she takes advantage of subsidized housing or other help. She is who it is there for.

Raising the minimum wage will not help. It will cause less to be employed and then overworked because an employer will not be able to have as many employees but need the same job done.

Lower coroporate tax and less regulation will bring in jobs. Good luck...

Can she do that???

Truth is me and her both don't ever look into government help, to proud I guess.

But right now we have to share a 800 square foot, 2 bedroom one bath with no yard.....and it sucks.
Maybe it's time we ask for some help. Moms arthritis has gotten into her back.

That is what it is there for in my eyes. Look into it. There is living off the government and the government helping you to have a good standard of living.

My issue is those who CAN work who do not, live 12 to a HUD home and have 3-4 checks coming in each month. It happens more than you think and it takes away from those who need it.

A person who pays no taxes, does not work and is able bodied is a drain on our country.

A business person saving money, how is that suprising? How many of the 90% of people that have to work for a living are benefiting? I haven't seen any increase.
