wasn't actually the claim the republicans made about their bill though?
that is was fair and balanced? that there was no losers and we all would gain??
so, if a priest prayed that and the believers had the faith that god would answer his prayer, well, wouldn't that kind of support the republicans claim, that the bill they passed was fair and balanced, with no losers, we all would gain?
it's kind of hard to claim that it's political when both sides would, like they usually do when it comes to anything in religion, interpret it to confirm their own preset conclusions about an issue.

You just made it political in your response. It's hard not to and maybe that's my point. Why should anything be in a prayer that could be deemed political coming from someone who is paid to represent us all?

To be honest I'm playing the devils advocate here. I have no idea shy Ryan ran him off and there may be a lot more to the story. Who knows? Not us.

Retroactively, no less.
Last month, God already knew what was in your heart.

Tomorrow, God remembered what was in my heart 6 months from now.

Wanna keep going?

Don't worry, I'm not easily offended (or shocked- bring it on).

Some of the tissue-paper members here are though, so watch out! Am I right?

Bro, bro...please take your Islam apologist mentality and trek on over to the ME and then ask one of their clerics if you can lead their convocation in a prayer in the name of the Christian god. Then come back and let us know how that went for ya.

You are NAIVE if you think this isn't part of the plan for Muslims to infiltrate and eventually take over the US government. It's been in play for years bro.

But bro...do you even conspiracy bro?

WHAT?! BENEFITS SHARED BY ALL AMERICANS? BRO. BRO. Do you even Ayn Rand bro?

If you're going to make a snide comment about Ayn Rand, at least get it right. The idea of something that truly benefitted all isn't contrary to her philosophy.

According to a lot of fundamentalist conservatives, Catholics aren't real Christians anyway.

The devil must have gotten in to Ryan, he used to be an alter boy....

Well, I think you're a bit extreme with the commie/socialist thing, but then that's the nature of politics.

A bit extreme? Hardly.

There is plenty of evidence of such things being said on ATS alone.

To be honest it depends on when. A Democrat might be upset because it's calling for equal taxation if you carry it to the extreme for partisan crap reasons. Aren't they against fair tax rates that are the same for everyone? You could also read that as "balanced" meaning rich should be taxed more. It can play both ways, depending on the propagandist spinning it.

It's all rather pointless, if you ask me.

Paul Ryan is a Progressive though.

Like yourself.

We can't let these religious people have any say in anything in government!!!! Screw natural law and anything the Founders really thought... we can rewrite that!

After all, there is the separation of church and state to consider!

Which is nowhere in the constitution, but we won't let it stop us until we have our Utopia.

About ten years before it all collapses. Like it always has done, historically. Been tried many ways. This time will be better though!!!!

Why do Progressives never think things through to the collapse of said system?

Oh Snap! Because it's a cult. Kinda exactly like a religion, only based on no faith in anything except better people than you telling you how to live your lives. Sound familiar?

Blah blah blah. What are you even talking about? My "Islam apologist mentality?" Lmao. Do you just randomly toss out strawman arguments in response to nothing?

They're gonna have to work a lot harder considering they're about 2% of the population.

Also, don't ever say you're not a Islamaphobe you bigot.

No, Paul Ryan is not a progressive.

What are you talking about? Paul Ryan's a practicing Catholic (pretending anyway) and the chaplain will be replaced with a new one 1 Ryan's appointed two congressmen to find one.

You literally just decided to call Paul Ryan a progressive so that you could imagine a whole narrative that has nothing to do with reality and blame it on progressives.

Lmao.
