They won’t give him credit for one thing, as their hatred for him burns white hot. The media has them programmed well to hate a man so much simply for a couple of off colour comments that we allmdomevery day. A hate so pure, for a man they’ve never even met. They're brainwashed. They do what the media tells them to and that’s it.

I find it funny when they say Cult45 is like Trump said, he could shoot someone and his supporters wouldn't abandon him.

The thing is he would have more supporters abandon him than he would have liberals give him credit if he cured cancer tomorrow.

There are definitely many things he can do to turn most his supporters against him, there is NOTHING he can do to get credit from liberals.

They will never give the man credit. Talk about a cult mentality.

Yeah lets just brush this off as you guys like to say "nothing burger". People were foaming at the mouth when Trump started talking about NK."My button is bigger than yours" and people were sure to say WWIII was imminent.

Now even the SK leader says he thinks its because of Trump but the bastions of light here on ATS seem to know better?

What does he have to so to get some reckognition?

If Obama would've done this, the tune of the MSM would be quite diffrent. But because its Trump?

RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA?

Wait maybe it was the Russians?

North Korea is never voluntarily getting rid of their nuclear weapons. You can take that to the bank. They've done this song and dance several times before, and it always ends the same way. I challenge any Trump supporter in this thread to toxx themselves if they truly believe Trump is some Korean savior broker and actually is going to get 'Un to denuclearize his country.

Uh, for the record Trump has currently done nothing vis-a-vis NK, so you are speaking like a time traveler having come back from the past to tell us that Trump has solved the Korean problem rather than a goof postulating about president Obama's achievements.

S. Korean President Moon literally gave all of the credit for these peace talks to President Trump. Peace talks that didn't happen under the last 4 presidents. The only people who are blind to it are liberals who are so blinded by hate, they no longer have the ability to not hate. Luckily, you are irrelevant at this point. President Trump is winning, America is winning, the whole world is winning. The only ones who cant stop losing are liberal haters. I feel sorry for you, its going to be a LONG 7 years.

Peace talks do not mean peace will be achieved.

People are " jumping the gun " here. Lets just wait and see.

holy crap man
when was the last time they had peace talks?

Some of us are realists.

Peace talks have been going on and off between Israel and The Palestinians for as long as i can remember. There is still no peace between them.

Just wait until North & South Korea actually state there is peace between them, and then you can shout " Halleluja All Hail To Donald Trump "

Yeah, you are right. I did ''skip'' over that part. So to make my stance clearer I will add the two words I left out.

No, because.

Do I agree that Trump stood up and played the big tough guy? Sure. Do I agree that Kim is a penny-ante little dictator whose only claim to power is his spot in a lineage of dictators and a national mentality of subservience to feudal masters and a populace that is starving in an economy that has been a shambles long before Trump came on the scene? Sure

So, could it be that this tin horn Korean boss was cowed by the big gun threats of the new sheriff in town? Sure. It could be.
It also could be that the tough sanctions slapped down by Trump are the cause of Kims acquiescence? Sure could be.

And might it also be Trumps ''back room dealings'' that got other nations like Russia and China to put pressure on the little squirt to bow the Trump's great negotiating skills? Again, sure.
I suppose we can go on with the potential ways in which Trump has saved the day here and brought about this potential reconciliation, sure, but there is where we run into all of the ''ifs''.

It's great to believe in ifs' but as a site dedicated to ferreting out reality, we might also to consider all of the ''if nots'' and that is also a long list.

There is the strong likelihood that NK's testing facility is a shambles and that that is a major cause of Kims recent friendliness. Be that the case, we have no idea how many or even if he has usable nukes ready to fly across the oceans any more. I don't know and neither, I suspect, do you.

Could it be that China and or Russia have promised Kim goodies if he plays along with them and makes Trump out to be the hero here? Could it be that Trump is the president of the most powerful nation in the world and that he is easy pickings for other leaders to cajole into poor decisions for our country just to make him feel like a big man?

Here is the thing Paingod. Did you see the Fox rant yesterday? Did you listen to it going on and on? Did you here this master of world geo-politics actually come out and admit on the public airways that Cohen was representing him in paying off a porn star? And did you hear him admit this on the ''special '' day of his wife's birthday? Did you see him taking a half hour out of his busy schedule recounting his own greatness?

So no, I do not believe that Trump is responsible for this ''potential reconciliation in Korea, simply because for the last two decades Trump has shown to me that he is nothing more than a blithering idiot who found a segment of the American public who were willing to buy into his blather as if it was or even could be sound governance.

If Trump is going to get blamed for any failure concerning North Korean peace talks, then by default, he'd have to own any success to the North Korean peace talks.

And yet the comments by S.Koreas leader completely shreds this nonsense you call an argument.

He would have said the same thing no matter who was in office because the US, not Trump, has been an important ally even if it was their government that did the heavy lifting on this. It is called politics.

I was truly beginning to wonder if anyone was going to come to that particular realization...

Trump. Un. Moon. China. Who the Hell ever. A chance at a lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula is all that matters...not who's name is bandied about the most.

It has never mattered a jot who's fundament was sitting in the Oval Office. It's the US, and the fact that we've had S. Korea's back since Day One.

Some may, or may not, have done better than others is somewhat irrelevant as policy as regards the alliance has never changed.

It's one of the few consistencies in US foreign policy in my lifetime, the other is our alliance with Great Britain.

As I said " It's just politics" and politically the
LEADER of south korea has credited Trump.
Trump gets the credit Trumps glory Trumps
Ticker tape parade. Credit to the U.S. gov.
separetely but no less. With our diligence
as a long time ally for a platrorm. Our great
and wise duly elected POTUS has silenced
all opposition at home and abraod with
todays words to this topic.

"We will not be played"

Get behind our POTUS or go somewhere else.
And if you' re already somewhere else.
And keep your nose in your own country.

He doesn't even want a paycheck. Why the hell
would he care about some shlt award that
means nothing. Obama had to go to Norweigh
just to accept it. Trump is the type of guy who
would say something like, look I'm busy can

Trump is only a part of this. A small part.

The major factors are world trade and financial sanctions against NK are hitting hard.

Added to the fact that China a few months ago stopped buying NK textiles ( their major export revenue ) and also limited the oil flow into NK.

NK is basically crippled and on it's knees. Kim had to respond by suing for peace.

The deal kim wants is contingent on US troops withdrawing from SK. He supposedly has more than 60 nuclear warheads with intercontinental capability.

I would like to know as to what was actually agreed upon at the meeting, but that has remained sparse. Time will tell where this goes if anywhere. Right now it is all symbolic and both sides have been known for breaking agreements in the past.
