Just stumbled across this interesting state-by-state comparison of UFO sightings in the United States. I won't spoil the fun by revealing the state where you're most likely to experience a sighting, but the answer did surprise me! www.casino.org...

Something screwy. Or am I not understanding it?
It says the most likely state is Wyoming, with "odds" of 20,500.
Least likely is Maryland, with 107,100.

What's going on with Florida? Texas?

I wonder if population density is considered in those "odds."

Well that was fun! But I think the site is a little shotty. Says I have a way higher chance in new york but some how Wyoming is the top place.

I think you're right, Phage - population density is a factor. Still, I thought Arizona or Nevada or California might take the top spot. Anyway, a fun lil diversion. a reply to: Phage

Mentions AATIP in the lower section. Provides pointers on reporting. Wonder if there's any connection to Bigelow?

I'm not interested in how many people purchased the insurance. I am more interested in how many times they have paid out.

Salida is at the north end of the San Luis valley. High Strangeness abounds there; not just ufos but all kinds of weirdness, paranormal, mystical, mind control, arcane, and what might be described as "religious" ....

I flyfish the Arkansas, and the San Juan on the southern end of "the Valley" my whole perception of reality has changed because of my experiences in the valley.

Really... all the EMF / Plamsa research by the government/military/industrial complex
no doubt highly annoy the critters.

I don't think it's one or the other explanation.. but both.

My point was that in Florida your "odds" are 348,500. A much greater number than Maryland. Why is Florida not the least likely state?

I'm assuming that number is in the denominator.. with one over it.
That would take population into account.
but it's sloppy.. it should state if that's what they mean.

But Wyoming has a much lower number which gives it the highest chance. It would seem that the lower the number, the higher the chance and the higher the number the lower the chance.

Remember the percentage of Blue Book sightings that went unexplained?

Factor that in.

Your odds of seeing an unexplainable UFO is 1/100 * whatever odd that site has.

Those sightings are "UFO" which includes balloons, swamp gas, ball lightning, Venus, drones, lanterns, mirage etc...
