Right out of the gate on page one, Comey admits the classification of these memos in his mind is "secret"

This would make it illegal to leak.

This alone, along with the redactions, seems to make this a pretty cut and dry case if this is indeed the memos he leaked to his freind to be leaked to the press.

Well, he can think in his mind it was Secret but if it wasn't classified at the time then it's not classified. Thinking about classification doesn't equal classification. Were they classified at the time he released them?

Getting in trouble for leaking classified information is tricky, as it's all about your status and who you know. Hillary is one great example of this but so is the recently pardoned Scooter Libby. The everyday man/woman gets the book thrown at them for leaking classified info, whether knowingly or not.

Look above; they a;ready are.

Comey had the ability to classify things (I believe) and classified these as secret; and yet still they say it wasnt classified when he sent it.

and now its redacted, proving its classified.

So to them; comey sent it saying it was classified, but at that point it wasnt. Then he leaked it to his freind which was ok, but then it became classified and so secret that dems said releasing it would jeopardize the investigation.

It is unreal the lengths people will go to excuse corruption for their side.

By they, you mean me? Look, I don't care about Comey and his memo's. At the end of the day, will they bring down Trump? Will they vindicate Trump? Will it even matter in the long run? Nope, in my opinion.

My opinion on classification stems from working with a TS/SCI in a SCIF dealing with classified materials for years.

And btw, I'm not a Democrat.

It's hard keeping up with when it's OK to leak or not...

If this was an illegal leak than I have trouble seeing how this is now OK and it would prove why the doj wouldn't want to give them up if they are part of an investigation.
