Page load speed.

Here in the UK on my ios Safari it is hanging bigtime, I have to drop my tab and make a new one to make pages load sometimes. More than that though, since this weekend, every 10-20 mins the page redirects to malware-like ‘YOU’VE BEEN SELECTED’ pages. The redirect goes to nationalconsumeruk.com or something like that. Only on ATS though.

Its been an issue for me on and off as well while other sites are not effected, especially last week. The issue has been on my PC,linux box, and mobile devices across different networks, but primarily comcast.

I wonder if they have started playing with undoing net neutrality and prioritizing traffic among the big 3 comcast,verizon,att?

Yeah I've noticed the same issue intermittently popping up over the course of the last few weeks (at least) as well.

It'll load pages fine and then all the sudden take up to a minute to display the content.

To me it kind of seems like it could potentally be DDOS attacks, but same symptoms could be caused by a few different issues so can't say for certain. Should be pretty easy for the host admins to verify though...

Every time this comes up, I check the server and any related alerts, and can't locate a cause on our end.

That being said, there's a new wave of mobile semi-malware being attached to app downloads, especially on iOS. I've seen similar commentary on other sites, and when a user removes a couple of their most recently installed apps, performance returns to normal. Some of these malware packages also seem to target frequently visited sites.

I should also add that our contract support firm is constantly monitoring page load speeds of sample pages, and it's been months since they sent me any slow-page alerts.

I had a "site un-secure" warning come up this afternoon (MAC), lasted awhile. Pages are also loading slow and then at times normal. I've never seen a warning like that come up until today, it was only when logging in to ATS. Something up, IDK??? Seems that many are having problems.


I'll try logging in and out again and see what happens.

Seems I'm not alone then with the intermittently slow page loading on the ATS site. Sometimes pages load normally, sometimes so slow I give up and shut the browser down to give it another shot. Tried a variety of machines, OS's (MS & flavours of Linux) and browsers (Chrome Firefox Opera) and all are the same so I feel I've ruled out local hardware or software as the source of the problem.

It's not unbearable, just a little disturbing.

Happen when I click a thread, just sits and loads.

This is getting so bad for me the site is almost unusable.

I don't have this issue on any other site.

Managed to solve a similar problem with ATS last week, requires renaming default browser setting file (keep it as a back up just in case) then re-open browser and things should be ok - guides on how to do this for each browser are available online. Would do a thorough malware scan as on pc and

And it's new.

How's the traffic as far as denial of service attacks?

With this many people having issues across multiple platforms its unlikely to be on the user end....

For me it happens on chrome, iPhone and my Samsung....

It does come and go. I thought it might just be at times of increased activity. It seldom happens when I'm on at three AM.

I sometimes count to see how long it takes after I hit reply before it actually moves. I've gotten to 45 seconds more than once.

For me, every time it happens, I look at the clock and its near the half hour (11:26, 3:33, etc)
Also, today if I hit next page, the browser (Firefox, windows 10) sits and at the bottom it says waiting for m.addthis.com.
It will wait almost 45 seconds, after that, the ats page loads almost instantly!

It's intermittent for me in the southern hemisphere and the greatest holdup appears to be
'waiting for lax1-ib.adnxs.com'.

GOOD NEWS,

Bill has scoured the code and we think he has found the culprit, a heavy side bar that was loading data from an overloaded db.

He's shut it off and things are lightening fast again for me at least.
